Thank you @brandonco for your very prompt and detailed reply. I will try to increase the limits as you suggested even though in theory I am within the limits (2G ram etc).

So far I have no PHP errors, I turned on logging.

What I do always get is the following error.

Error 406 – Not Acceptable
Generally a 406 error is caused because a request has been blocked by Mod Security. If you believe that your request has been blocked by mistake please contact the web site owner.

Yes, i have never had such an error before. I will check and reply… Not sure if i have logs turned on.

In my wordpress site I have the following message which always causes a fatal error if I click the “Delete” button – I have never had this before and thus can not delete this message.

I got it to work by turning off retina 2x … generate thumbnail and then activate retina 2x again .. the retina files were also fixed.

I just started getting this error message- seems to be the same as above. The image is 6mb and jpeg. I was also having troubles uploading it through wordpress when I go to replace an image and want to upload.. not sure if it is related. Is there meta data? or something that must be generated in WP for this to work?
