  • Andrés, entiendo entonces que este plugin actualmente no funciona en su versión actual? lo instalamos la semana pasada en la web de un cliente y teniendo peso y medidas correctas, me da valores de envío sobre los 100 mil.

    Hi John ( @johndcoy )

I’m sorry, I’m sure there’s no compatibility issues here with my theme (Divi) or other plugins. I’ve tested this already.

Also, @pitbozionelos has helped me a lot, and the plugin seems to be working fine in the most important task to me, which is syncing up my products to Facebook.

The only thing that is weird, is the Category property.

I’ve disabled the Google default product category in the plugin configuration, but I’m not sure if I should ask for it to re-sync the products in order to have my WooCommerce categories synced up with Facebook.

    Best regards,
    Gonzalo.

    Hi Pit! ( @pitbozionelos )

I’ve checked what you told me.

First of all, yes, I assume that the Google product category is being synced to the Category property in Facebook.

I disagree with this choice you guys have made, as it doesn’t seem correct: I’m syncing WooCommerce with Facebook, so the Categories in Facebook should be the same as WordPress, and nothing to do with Google. Specially because, this wasn’t like this before. All my categories were the same in both sides.

Second thing. No, the WooCommerce categories are no syncing in the Product Type property. None of my products in Facebook appears to have a product type.
    See here 2 examples:
“Man Of Steel #6”, no product type: https://snipboard.io/eS8qgZ.jpg
“Dark Days: The Casting #1”, no product type: https://snipboard.io/CGy6pF.jpg

But, going back to the Category property, this is where it gets interesting.

The other day, after taking the screenshots, I updated the categories of “Man Of Steel #6” in WooCommerce. Just something I had to do. Nothing to do with testing.

Today, while checking for the info you told me, I realized that “Man Of Steel #6” now has the WooCommerce categories in the Category Facebook property, instead of the Google number.
    See here: https://snipboard.io/TYfSVu.jpg

Then, I checked with another product (“Dark Days: The Casting #1”) and there it was, the Google number on the Category property.
    See here: https://snipboard.io/4XUOEt.jpg

So, I updated the categories in WooCommerce for that last product, and checked again. Now the Category property has synced up with the WooCommerce categories.
    See here: https://snipboard.io/0RMr3i.jpg

As you can see, when updating a product, the WooCommerce categories for that product sync up with Facebook to the Category property, just as I think it should be.

Regarding to Collections, yes, you can filter products based in properties. I have created collections filter by Name for the moment, and I could create them filtering by Product Type or Category, if I had the correct info on those properties.
    See here:
    – Filter by Name: https://snipboard.io/XKslW6.jpg
    – Filter by Category: https://snipboard.io/5ehQ2o.jpg

So, tell me what you think of all this.

Should I disable the Google categories setting in the plugin? (right now I’m not even sure what’s that for)

    Best regards,
    Gonzalo.

    Hi Pit! (@pitbozionelos)

All of my products have the Facebook tab with it’s default settings.

As an example, I share here a screetshot of the Facebook tab for a specific product, a comicbook “Man Of Steel #6” (it’s all in spanish, but I suppose you’ll get that it’s all default):
    https://snipboard.io/y7ONGz.jpg

You can look at the product categories and see that it has a few assigned:
    https://snipboard.io/s9elAN.jpg

Also, if you look at the same product in the Facebook catalog, inspecting the product and clicking on the “show more fields” button, you can see that the category shown in facebook it’s a number:
    https://snipboard.io/JYpGzo.jpg

I’m guessing that something is wrong. With the default settings, I assume that the synced product should have at least it’s principal category (it was like that, a couple of updates back).

Maybe the plugin it’s syncing the category ID number instead of it’s name?

    Best regards,

    Gonzalo.

    Hi @pitbozionelos!

I’m happy to inform you that today I was finally able to get help from my hosting provider, and they have increased my memory limit to 512 mb, just like you suggested, and the problem was finally fixed!

Now the catalog has been synced correctly and both my Facebook and Instagram stores have reappeared.

Everything appear to be working perfectly, except for one little detail:

Before, I had a few collections of products, selected automatically by category. This was made via the Facebook catalog, using the categories that were synced up in each product by the plugin.

Now, the categories for each product are not synced correctly. Instead, every product has a number in the category field. All products with the same number “543543”.

I bypassed this problem for now, as I was able to recreate the collections, selecting by product name that “contains” a key phrase.

Was this “category” field changed by any chance in the latest updates of the plugin?

    Best regards,
    Gonzalo.

    Hi @pitbozionelos,

Today I tried what you asked for, I checked and the connection seemed to be ok, with a connected catalog, same one from Facebook.

Even so, I tried to do it again. I uninstalled the connection (via the button), and then I started again.

I clicked on the plugin button to start the configuration, and instead of using the same catalog, I created a new one. The plugin seemed to connect everything ok, but when it comes to syncing up the products, same thing. No products appeared on the new catalog (it says that it’s syncing but nothing else happens). The same errors are in the WooCommerce status registers (memory and time).

I then tried again, connecting the plugin with the original catalog. Same thing. Same errors.

I suppose it’s time to try the other way that you propose.

    Hope it helps!

    Best regards,
    Gonzalo.

    Hi @pitbozionelos

I’m ok with testing anything you want in order to correct the issue. A few points though:

    1) The regeneration of the feed file is failing always. Not intermittently. If it would be failing intermittently, my facebook catalog would have products, but as I deleted it manually via Facebook, now it doesn’t have anything, and it has not been regenerated.

    2) I need to regenerate the catalog. I don’t know if the way you want to test will do it or not.

    3) What I want, is that my catalog is synced from the website to facebook. It will never be modified via facebook, as I have configured that the sales should be done directly in the website, so all changes in products (like descriptions or stock or sales) will come from the website.

If the way you propose will help, let’s do it. But, will this change be erased if the plugin updates in the future?

    Best regards,
    Gonzalo Medel.

    Hi @pitbozionelos,

All my products are simple. I have 199 products at the moment.

I’m not sure what do you mean by “disabling the feed generation”. If I disable the plugin, or if I disconnect it from my Facebook account (via the uninstall button), the feed generation stops and I can edit my products.

I don’t need that. I need that the plugin works again syncing my products up to my Facebook and Instagram stores, which are currently empty (with no products, as I deleted them, trying to fix the issue).

I don’t know what I could do in order to fix this on my end.

    Best regards,
    Gonzalo.

Hi, for the moment, I’m not able to up the memory limit, as it is set by the hosting provider, and not by me.

But, I would have thought that the memory limit of 256 mb shouldn’t be an issue, if the plugin worked ok before.

I will try to get in contact with the hosting provider and see if something can be done about this.

I don’t know how the plugin works, but I’m thinking that something maybe went wrong with the plugin update, as I’ve seen in the forum than I’m not the only one with this issue.

    Hi @pitbozionelos!

    Thanks for writing back.

    – I currently have 199 posted products on my site.
    – The error that appears when trying to edit any product is a server error 500.
    – When the plugin is disabled the error does not persist and I can edit products.
    – I’ve tried re-connecting by:
    – Using the “uninstall” button and following the process to connect again. No problem with the connection, it just didn’t sync up.
    – Then I completely deleted the Facebook catalog, and then again tried with the “uninstall” button, to see if the catalog would re-generate instead of just updating. It did not. I now don’t have anything on my Facebook, as it doesn’t sync up or re-generate the catalog.
    – Disabling and enabling the plugin doesn’t work either. It just allows me to edit products by having the plugin disabled.

Also, checking out the WooCommerce -> Status -> Registers section, every day there’s a new “fatal error” register (that started with the plugin updates, and stops when the plugin is disabled). The register has a lot of these:

2020-11-11T00:01:40+00:00 CRITICAL Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 20480 bytes) en /home/tercerplanetacom/public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php en la línea 1999

Also, there’s already 1062 failed “programmed actions”, all the same: “wc_facebook_regenerate_feed”, which is being timed out after 300 seconds.

I know this is not a problem with my site, as the plugin was working ok a few weeks ago, and we have made no other changes.

    Hope you can help out!

    Cheers!

I’m having the same problem, and now I cannot edit my WooCommerce products.

Checking the “Programmed Actions” in the WooCommerce “Status” page, I realized that I have a lot of failed actions, and they are all from “wc_facebook_regenerate_feed”. They all say that “the action timed out after 300 seconds”. They all started a couple of days ago, I’m assuming maybe after the last update.

I tried deleting the product catalog from Facebook, and re-connecting the plugin, but this also didn’t work, and now my Facebook and Instagram stores are not showing because they don’t have products.

Bottom line, something is wrong with the catalog syncing, and it times out. This didn’t happened before with my settings, so it’s not a “not enough memory” problem.

Oh, I see, so the problem is in the Modern Events Calendar plugin.

    Thank you very much!
