  • Great site. Where can we download your newly developed version of Quizzin? Please provide a link or other instructions to get it.

    Thanks,
    Michael

So it does work on one of the themes (he has 3. His main Atahualpa Theme, the WPTouch and Carrington). It works only on the Carrington for him. I have the WPTouch on my site and it works. We will keep looking. But it definitely seems to be something in a theme/plugin combination.

    We’ll keep investigating.

The only other user to complain of a very odd display issue was using the same theme! Can you try switching themes just to entertain the possibility? Even for just a moment and switch back?

It works on several sites I run.

Get back to me. Let’s see if we can figure this out.

    Thanks for your interest.

I didn’t include the “start” button in the single page quiz since the start screen (instructions) are just at the top of the quiz. So you want a start button that makes the instructions disappear and just the questions show up? How can I contact you I can send you a file to test it out. if you prefer, you can use the contact form on my website https://gmichaelguy.com/quizplugin/ to send me your email address.

I hope to add an email function in the next week or so and possibly a database storage of results. Thank you for your feedback and ideas. Contact me on my website if you have other questions/concerns/requests. I am going to close this message.

I am not opposed to this at all. But here’s the thing, the answers to every question are fairly clearly indicated in the html source. This was my design to make things easier for me. This way the program can function without interaction with the server (where answers could be more securely kept secret). This is a tool that is meant to be used for self assessment and learning. It is not good for institutional assessment since there is no real security in the testing environment.

With this in mind, paint for me a picture of what you might like to see kept track of, and how you might like to see the results displayed, and I’d definitely consider it. But I’ll repeat, this is not a secure environment for any assessment other than self assessment followed by a learning opportunity (through hints and the explanation.)

Yes! Both of those are something I’d like to do soon. I don’t think I personally want to use the email feature, but I should be able to implement it for my next update. I definitely want to track statistics of correct answers and such. I don’t think I’ll attach it to any logged in users, however. It would just be a general count of submissions. Is this sufficient for you?

One thing I am balancing with this is the need to keep the plugin light on the server (in my use connectivity is limited), so submissions would have to address that.

I have a lot of projects right now, but this is still important.

I’d like to hear your styling issues. I’ll admit I’m not a CSS master and might well have messed something up. I’d be happy to address them.

I created a new plugin based on Quizzin for use on some mathematics sites I’m working on. I use mathjax for my encoding of mathematics in latex. Take a look at one example of this in use at in a site still under construction at https://amireadyformath.com/?page_id=7 I will post the new plugin here shortly.
