You got it Bojan! The error_log function was disabled, once enabled the plugin activated immediately without error. Thankyou.

I tried deactivating all other plugins, reinstalled WordPress 6.22, still got the same error.

You may be right about it being related to PHP environment on server. Running php 8.0.28 and thinking of upgrade to 8.1 or 8.2.

Leave it with me for a couple of days, I will do some testing. Thanks.

Thankyou. I enabled debug log, then deleted plugin, installed fresh and activated. Same error as above. Here is output of debug.log:

I had problems sending to gmail.com earlier this month. It was some sort of DNS issue as my server could not get the IP address of gmail. Restarting my DNS service fixed the problem.

Ask the tech support at your host to test if their DNS can see gmail, with command:

    dig gmail.com

If no IP address is returned, they need to resart their DNS service. Then gmail will be accessible.

PS: I just updated to 2.4.2, NO ERROR whatsoever.

I updated to 2.4.1 and had the same error. But now it seems I can access dashboard and all backend ok.

I have deactivated the plugin, as dashboard IS NOT accessible when activated.

    Hey, I got here a bit late…
You seem to have it under control now.

I tried this plugin a while back, but found I was fighting it every step of the way. The developers don’t seem to care much either, when it comes to adding essential features requested by users. The plugin still has issues with url trailing slash, in 2020!!!

WP Super Cache has the best integration with WordPress/Apache setup, requires least modifications to work superbly, and in my opinion is the standard.

    Good luck in your quest!

Ok, I just saw your post.
Yes, it works better in “Default” mode, thankyou.

Your documentation suggested “Compatability” mode when using AIOSEO, but works better for me with Default.

For your reference, I use AIOSEO, GeneratePress, and the only settings I touched were the “Schema” tab – I already have GeneratePress dates showing on frontend, just needed the dates in schema.

    Thanks again.

    @floodspark
Thankyou. Its been a while, and now, all my WP security needs are covered.

As feedback, the demo load is too big. The page is downloading tens of megabytes before it can display. I hope your plugin version is a little more optimized.

    Well wishes, G

    OK, finally its dawned…

I get what you mean now, I was putting excluded files to File Guard only, not realizing the two tabs are two seperate features.

Once I entered the same excludes to File Check it worked!

    Thankyou.

I must mention that my htaccess contains directives extracted from Bulletproof Security plugin, but I don’t think they are effecting this.

PS: Funny thing, the excludes work fine on NinjaScanner.
