OK, great, this is super helpful. Now that I understand this. I’ve switched the URL in General settings to https://03bb5e7.netsolhost.com/WordPress/wp-login.php? then I’m making the changes I need to before switching back to https://www.gocuplin.com. Have tested this approach – remembering to update the .htaccess files and it works. It means the site is down for a little while, but that’s OK. Thanks for the time.

Also, as my blog is completely broken I tried switching to a WP theme (in case it was an issue with the commercial theme I’m using) but I have the same issue. Please help, thanks in advance, Matt

Thanks Arthur, I can’t/don’t FTP into the site – is there any other way around it? Also, I’ve been updating the Customizer theme which I thought might be the problem… it is now up to date, however my live site is really broken and I still can’t get past the login. Thanks in advance.

OK, I’ve managed to do this now, by posting the .htaccess code into the Java code update section within the Optimizer Pro settings. Many thanks again for all the help on this one.

OK, the access issue is resolved. I’m still keen to change my site’s root URL to https://www.gocuplin.com I do not have access to my hosting FTP. Is there any other way to update/change the .htaccess file that when I change the permalinks I’m asked to update?

OK, (and for anyone else reading this who is on Network Solutions) – I’ve been able to make the change using the guide you gave me:

Via a link I found on my Network Solutions WordPress account page. It’s titled “Edit WordPress Database” but to get the link to work you have to allow popups.

Thanks, but this is way beyond me! I’ve downloaded PHPmyAdmin, but it makes no sense as to what I can do with it. I’ve also spoken to Network Solutions who are the host and they offer no FTP access.

Thanks James, the issue occurred only when I changed the “WordPress Address (URL)” from https://03bb5e7.netsolhost.com/WordPress to https://www.gocuplin.com under the “Settings” and “General” tab. Before that the site was perfect.

I now cannot access my dashboard to change it back – https://03bb5e7.netsolhost.com/WordPress/wp-login.php
Can anyone else do this for me?

As for the FTP – this is not something I’ve done before or even understand – but am reading up on it now. Thanks for the help so far – any more help is greatly received. Matt
