Thanks. I’ve deactivated all the plugins on the mirror site and am testing there first.

I’ll be doing some massive revision work on the website in December when it is not needed to be in service. My boss was asking me about the site’s slowness today. When I checked the records, it looks like they decided to start the throttling when school came back into session.

Do you think that’d apply to two completely different websites on two different servers with completely different themes and plugins?

The problem appeared shortly after upgrading to 3.0.

@adeptris: Yep, that’s what I got (except my category is “Headline”).

@alchymyth: I just downloaded pageofposts.php and yes, the extension is .php and there is nothing above the initial <php.

Doesn’t work for multiple categories of posts though! ?? I have four on the front page of my website, so it’d suck to have them all moved to a single category page when I have four separate archival pages.

All I did was copy pasta it from the Codex page with zero changes.

I’m calling my posts in by category like so: https://lisuncg.net/news-and-events/category/headline/ but I’d rather just have https://lis.uncg.edu/news-and-events/headlines/ so it looks more like a regular list of posts rather than like the archives.

I still haven’t heard any responses to this problem either. It seems like it’d be a pretty common thing…

Not for both of them. They both started having the issue though they’re on completely different servers.

Additional information:

I downloaded the Capabilities plugin and created a new role called “Edit a page.” I then restricted access to page editing before moving on to assigning roles to pages. I choose my user “Charlotte” who has the role of “Edit a page” and then selected the page that they could edit.

I choose “Page Reader.”

In the capabilities plugin, I first selected all the options for “Edit a page” role. I then went through and took them off one by one to see where the hang up is. My “Charlotte” user cannot edit their page if the “activate plugins” box is unchecked.

What?!?

I don’t understand what activating plugins has to do with editing the page. Please help ASAP!

It looks like I just had to go to Settings > General and change the WP Address and Site Address. Now off to get all the links rewritten.
