In reply to: [External Database Authentication Reloaded] Error "table does not exist"The plugin was updated and I applied the update – I’m not sure what the code was exactly, sorry. If you’re seeing the same error I was try updating the plugin and if that doesn’t work, contact the author.

In reply to: [External Database Authentication Reloaded] Error "table does not exist"Turns out it was a slight bug in the plugin, which has now been fixed. After that, I had no trouble at all with it and it’s been really useful, works perfectly for me!

In reply to: [External Database Authentication Reloaded] Error "table does not exist"I’ve got username and password in that one table, is there anything else it will be looking for? I’d be happy to give you a login if you have time to look at it for me.

In reply to: [External Database Authentication Reloaded] Error "table does not exist"Let me double-check… yep, all for the external db.

In reply to: [External Database Authentication Reloaded] Error "table does not exist"Ah, I knew there was something odd there. I’ve changed it now to the external database name (and updated my screenshot at the link above). The plugin is still looking in the WordPress database though –
prefix_wp.prefix_users doesn't exist

In reply to: [External Database Authentication Reloaded] Error "table does not exist"I don’t seem to be able to upload to these forums, so I’ve popped it here instead.
Thankfully, WP remembers almost all the settings except the hash code when I delete and reinstall the plugin after an unsuccessful attempt.
Other possible issues with my setup that might affect finding the table:
– WP is installed in a subfolder
– The external db belongs to a program installed in a subdomain (not my idea, but stuck with it now).Let me know if there’s any other information I can provide for you.
Thanks!Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [External Database Authentication Reloaded] Error "table does not exist"Yep, they’re correct – I’ve got an account on the external database with the same username and password as the admin account for WordPress, have double-checked both for typos.
A quick look at external database type things for non-Wordpress connections shows that sometimes they rely on config.php in the root – could mine be a problem here?

In reply to: Conflicting version info & can't upgradeSuccess! Some tweaking to do, as my old theme doesn’t work as well in the new version, but it’s all upgraded and doing well.
Thanks for talking me through this, much appreciated!

In reply to: Conflicting version info & can't upgradeYes, it’s still giving me the blank page. I wish I’d upgraded sooner, but everything was working fine so it didn’t occur to me ??

In reply to: Conflicting version info & can't upgradeOk, good point to rule things out first. I just went through and deactivated one plugin at a time, then tried the auto reinstall again after each one. Still the same “blank” page result after each one, so I’ve reactivated them.
(For the record, in case anyone has a similar problem later, the plugins were: Akismet, Feedburner Feedsmith, Google Analyticator, Limit Posts, Secure & Accessible PHP Contact Form)

In reply to: Conflicting version info & can't upgradeInteresting! I had it installed but inactive, so I deleted it altogether and refreshed the plugins page to check it was gone. Then I tried the aoto reinstall again – no change.
But it did remind me that I’ve had problems before with plugins that want to access or do stuff to my blog from an external source (like pulling in Twitter streams, etc and I had to manually edit Akismet to work properly). I wonder if this is related? Previous issues seemed to be caused by my host’s firewall/proxy setup.

In reply to: Fix for Cannot redeclare class pclzipI had a similar error when trying to install the Earth Hour plugin and a trackback spam plugin. Deactivating the WordPress Automatic Upgrade plugin fixed the problem for me too.

In reply to: Permalink and category links broken in 2.6I just fixed mine by going to the Permalinks page, and typing ‘category’ into the category field, and ‘tag’ into the tag field. Seems to be ok for now…
