    Thanks

    Oh and this is what I see in my admin page now, so yep should work.

    Gutenberg Compatible

    WPBakery Page Builder is compatible with the Gutenberg and allows to use it within your layout.

    @wickywills

    It is indeed confusing as I used to see “Visual Composer” in my admin and now it is called “WPBakery Page Builder” case in point their page on Envato Market is named : WPBakery Page Builder for WordPress (formerly Visual Composer)

    Anyway, should be fine.

    It should not, WP Bakery is normally compatible.

    https://visualcomposer.io/docs/content-elements-structure/gutenberg-element/

    This is why Visual Composer is now fully compatible with the Gutenberg editor. This means that you will have two options available:

    I like that part :

    How to disable Gutenberg
    We understand that not all people are excited about the Gutenberg. Especially if you already have your content made up. So, this is obvious that you may want to disable the Gutenberg editor.

    Now, think of the time you will have to train all the people who this 25+ sites belong too… fun times ahead.

    @keijokoo

    I very much await (and horde) the day when a Gutenberg-free fork of WordPress is being announced. It is not a matter of “if” but “when” if Gutenberg goes into core.

    One of my comment was “removed” for saying something similar, but honestly and after reading the deafening silence of people behind Core on this matter, I just hope, no PREY that WP will be forked if they ever push this in core.

    I am totally fine with GB being a Plugin and I believe that GB could in the next years be as cool as their developer want it to be but just thinking of having to retrain all my clients to be able to use Gutenberg and have to deal with all the problems that will come after that really push me toward finding other Blog CMS solutions or the hope to see a Fork to WP.

    I am in total disbelief how bad these people do not know their users. Sure, there are many Ppl what will use WP.org, get their VPS, SERVER and so on running and start blogging their life, but a GOOD CHUNK of people using WP.org are professionals that offer all in one solution to a LOT of customers.

    Case in point I just pushed two websites this month one for a Travel Agency and one for a Major International School here in Japan and in EACH Case the people that will write blog post are not tech savvy. Visual editor is already a pain for them, but adding GB to the mix will be a nightmare for both clients and people like me.

    Change can always be considered a risk, but so can staying the same.

    Don’t confuse change for ignorance. The real problem here is that you (the collective you) are ignorant on who people really use WP. You are trying to catch up with Squarespace, Wix, Medium and co while in fact the people, like all of us that are frustrated with GB, use WP because we do not want to use these Solutions.

    One of the things that makes WordPress successful is not only that it has been around for a long time but also that the community is passionate and present and keeps moving forward by working on these sorts of challenges.

    Wrong, what makes WP successful is its build anything you want with it mentality by offering an amazing platform. What makes WP successful is its Plugin Lib where people can find WHATEVER they want and many different ways to write content. Forcing something that is half backed on what I consider the “Lego” of Blog CMS (Here WP) is like having to force someone to have fun with PlayMobil, nice toys but nurtured all creativity.
    The beauty of WP is that only your imagination can stop you to build something amazing, not the platform. If I want something close minded with a forced way to do things then I will go to Medium and so on.

    @designsimply

    It really feel like you guys do not really understand who use WP.org. There are here a bunch of people, myself including, that are making website for others, granted in my case I am small potatoes and I do it just for fun to help other develop their SMBs.

    But what you do not understand that by default we are training a lot of people and having to retrain these peoples that are not take savvy by default is a nightmare, especially when Gutenberg as been clearly designed to “Look Fancy” first and Writing was optional at best.

    You have clearly not though about the hell that forcing GB on us will be to have clients getting made and frustrated at us because of GB and not being able to understand how it works and how to use it.

    On paper GB is an interested 3rd party Plugin that you could actually make it available for a Fee in a Pro version, but after a few more years of development when it comes to UX, as it is today and if it ever reach core in 5.0 I will have to consider one of the following

    1. Never upgrade to 5.0 all the sites I handles
    2. Wait for someone to Fork WP (And I will totally support that).
    3. Wait for a “Un-Gutemberg” Plugin
    4. Find other alternative to WP

    I have been using WP regularly since “Duke” or 2.0, there have been some rough moments but Gutemberg is, in my case, the worst.

    Please, listen to WP users and make GB a standalone Plugin.

    @karmatosed

    There are so many different workflows and ways to use WordPress that learning about that is crucial right now.

    That is pretty scary to read this, you guys are just discovering now that we all have our unique ways to work but want to force something on us that does not fit our collective needs and came with something, aka Gutenberg, from your narrow point of view and want to force it on us? Really?

    The “classic ways” is the best, WP is a building block platform! With the amazing amount of plugins here everyone will find a tool that will match his/her style with ease. Forcing us to use an app that was not really well thought and not capable to meet all our needs is just insane.

    I am sure that some people likes Gutenberg, and I am sure that people that do not like it may like it now may like it in several years when you guys will finally figure out how to make it great. But even so, Gutenberg is a Plugin and should stay a plugin and not be installed in Core.

    I will make it short, Gutenberg is look first, writing optional, which is a shame for a blog centric CMS like wordpress. Granted that it is more evolved like other stuff around but I feel like I am using a crappy soft “a la” Medium, or LinkedIn (article), Wix and squarespace.

    I really feel like you guys wanted to be like them just for the sake of looking good rather rather than focusing on what matter, writing stuff.

    I have been using WP for quite sometimes now and whenever I use it for me or train people to use WP I always do the following :

    Basic Writing
    1. Write your stuff in Text mode, use basic tools that comes with it.
    2. Never Trust visual (most people copy paste from Word which bring a lot of crap)
    3. For beginner, use Visual ONLY to check how it looks, but better use Save as draft and preview to have a REAL idea how things will look like depending of your theme.

    Advance Writing (Where Style and look matter)
    1. WPBakery Page Builder… So much easier to use.
    2. If you are too cheap => Maybe, really maybe Elementor, but since WPBakery is now pretty much included in every theme you purchased (with Slider Revolution…) why bother.

    Sorry but I will have to uninstall this plugin. I found another solution that works just fine and does not create conflict.

    Thank you for your time.
