Actually, with further investigation it turns out the core problem is that this template has a conflict with the Event Calendar 3.1.4 plugin. Any thoughts on how this might be resolved? It’s a great plugin – I use it on many other sites.

I’ll investigate through other channels as well, but if anyone has any immediate thoughts, I’d appreciate hearing them.

I have resolved the problem.
Thanks to your insights, I just loaded the permalink.php file again, and that took care of it.

I tried to do this, however when I click on permalinks it comes up with a blank page (just the left sidebar is visible in the admin panel).

I apologize for not replying sooner – I had been diverted,and also had found some solutions that seemed to work in some situations. The response from Jeremy looks good – I had gotten some similar advice from another WP developer, but the code was a little different. Hopefully this will resolve the issue.
