In reply to: Custom Post Type Portfolio menu 404it was actually just an example url to look at the last part to see if it looks as it should, regardless of the domain. But, from what I have discovered, it appears to be related to how permalinks work in WP and after spending literally days on Google, it appears many are experiencing this issue with custom post type urls in WP. Doesn’t seem to have a solid solution by anyone.

In reply to: No More Commercial theme directory?Hi Ipstenu….lol, is someone supposed to be monitoring that area? If so, they’ve been sleeping on the job for about 4 or 5 months, lol. Do you know if this commercial listings directory is going to be eliminated or changed with the upcoming planned changes for www.ads-software.com?

In reply to: Posting Test Pages?it would go where your WordPress install is (if that is in the root). If you put it there and it still does not show up in your browser, then you may need to send your host a support ticket.
By the way, is your site photohound.com ? I went to that and it shows a parked domain page, no website, so that is a problem. My guess is that this is a new website and you just set the nameservers to your domain name? Normally a parked domain page like what I Saw is there as a temporary page until the nameservers update and then your website will show up after 48 to 72 hours.

In reply to: Can WordPress do this??It can…but without really having a good understanding of your site’s features for the visitor and for those who will come, register, upload, etc., you would more likely need to find a couple plugins to provide registered users the means of managing their login account, but mostly, to manage image uploading efficiently with sharing ability. You may need to explore the plugins directory for image uploaders, sharing images, and maybe even membership plugins. Ultimately it will based on how you want your site to look and function from the point of someone arriving at it, as in step 1, step 2, and what they will be able to do and not do.

In reply to: Posting Test Pages? If I understand this correctly, you have a WordPress website and you have a page with a picture in it you want to share with family? If so, you simply make a new page in the admin of WordPress and insert your picture into that and send them the link to this page from the permalink path that shows at the top of the editor (below the title). The other method is to simply create an html page if you don’t want it to be part of your WordPress website, add your image, and upload this to your site’s domain location. Something like: photohound.com/your-image.html
Vancouver, BC, Canada for moi….almost neighbors!
Well..back to design work for me, have to get this new theme finished ??If whatever you do is an alternative and it works, I will have to buy you a grande mocha! Of course, that means coming to Vancouver…lol
ah… so Alex is watching the thread here ??
Anyway, I still commented it out. As for css, I simply added some custom styling to my theme’s style.css instead. Of course, that is just me, and not sure it’s what others would do.
The meta tag is just an irritating itch for me personally, but regardless, it’s still a great plugin.
Not sure if this meta tag will be removed from the plugin in a next version from Viper007Bond, but for a nice valid site, I tried one thing, although it’s not really the best way, is to comment out line 570 in the syntaxhighlighter.php file…the part that begins with:
echo '<meta id="syntaxhighlighteranchor" .....
just put a couple forward slashes in front of echo. Make sure you keep a copy of the original file before doing this incase you have to go back. Also, the messy part is updating the plugin, it will overwrite what was commented out. So far the site works and the validation is all green. Still, it’s an awesome plugin!Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Custom Field Colour PickerThanks Nate for the two links you provided. I will look these over, although having a colour selector in my theme control panel already has one (colorPicker from eyecon.ro). More specifically, I was looking for an actual custom field version for post and page types as my theme I am making uses custom fields for portions of the layout and allows individual page/post customizations.
Actually, I hope to find out the answer to this too…I need my theme to go green! Overall, this plugin is great but just that little quirk that needs a solution.
