In reply to: I think my site may have been hackedThanks Andrew – as a first things first, how do I take my site down? And should I upgrade my WordPress now if I an get into wp-admin or should I wait until I have cleaned up the hack?
Also, not sure if this is relevant but my site is hosted with WordPress?

In reply to: I think my site may have been hackedWhat can I do please hack repair guy? I’m not an expert – I manage a small website but want to get it sorted. I do update my WordPress and plug ins regularly.
I can only get to my site intermittently now and I don’t have any backup facilities.

In reply to: I think my site may have been hackedThansk vancode – yes, I can now get to the site but I can see all the spammy payday loans stuff via the cache view on Google text only version:
https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:https://graduatecareertips.co.uk&hl=en&strip=1
I want to know how to get this sorted out as someone looks to have hacked my header with a load of payday loans links.

In reply to: Featured Image Not WorkingHi – I’m not trying to add it to the pos itself. I am trying to set it as a featured image and when I click save changes, it just hangs for ages and nothing happens.

In reply to: Cant's get to my site or wordpress dashboardI changed the file name for the errors that came up. e.g. I change advanced-cache.php to advanced-cacchev1.php
This fixed the error where I couldn’t get to my WordPress dashboard via wp-admin
Next problem is that all my plug ins have been deleted and I can’t access the Go Daddy FTP file manager.
I can’t install new plug ins either as I get this error message:
Could not create directory. D:/hosting/10067393/html/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack/
Plugin install failed.
Any ideas what I need to do next please?

In reply to: Cant's get to my site or wordpress dashboardThanks guys – I renamed my plug in file in FTP and I can now access the direct URL but can’t log into wp-admin
I get this error message
W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove D:\hosting\10067393\html\wp-content\advanced-cache.php.

In reply to: Posts not appearing under categories on siteI found the root cause of the issue which was linked to the Yoast plugin and the catehory name being stripped from the URL. Once I chose for the category name not be stripped, all the posts reappeared. It doesn’t seem 3.4.1 likes that part of the Yoast plug in. I would rather strip the category name out of the URL but can’t see a way round it currently since I did the updgrade.

In reply to: Posts not appearing under categories on siteJust noticed that the new software drop of 3.4.1 was supposed to help with the issues I have above but it seems to have caused an issue I didn’t have before.
I looked at the release notes for 3.4.1 and it should help with:
“Addresses problems with some category permalink structures.”
