I have managed to resolve this myself by deleting the blog title from the General Settings, saving this change and then re-enterng the blog title and saving.

    Hi t31os_

I followed your instructions and it was recognised.

After some tinkering i was able to get it to recognise my file. I have created my style.css in notepad, i copied this into wordpad and uploaded all was ok.

I was not aware that notepad/wordpad would make a difference.

Thanks for taking the time to help me out.
