Ok for the original problem of variable products not calculating the tax. I found a solution that doesn’t requiring editing code. To be honest, I’m surprised the author didn’t try this. If you manually entered in your tax rate or you use a third party uploader like Tax Rate Upload you need to recreate or re-upload your tax table. Leaving all my product settings as they were originally this solved the problem tax is now calculated properly how I originally had it. Why we would need to recreate or re-upload tax rates after an update is beyond me. But this solved the problem on my cart.

Ok, I solved it myself. Will be sharing the solution on a post on my blog if you want to link back. Just a heads up for Quality Control, this is the second time I solved my own problem before support.woothemes.com could.

Shoot I’m stuck. I have opened a support ticket, and after two weeks and no solution, today my ticket was marked resolved. And yes I have kept prompt reply to “Ninja” responses. But when I look at support ticket thread, my responses weren’t being displayed which is frustrating since apparently I need to provide screen captures of the problem and there is no option to attach pictures from the support ticket thread. I granted a “Ninja” administrator access but still nothing. I don’t know what to do. woothemes support community is closed and no longer accepting any new questions… seems rather fishy if you ask me. How can I escalate my problem?

Thanks for getting back to me so soon. I reviewed the links provided and was concerned as to the post type. You stated it’s custom so would I then use single-{custom}.php and then go from there? Sorry still getting to know WP.
