ok, my bad. I have two servers with identical website (load balancing). On the first server I encounter the problem described above.
On the second one however, things are working as expected.

I believe it must be a PHP or Apache configuration issue. What do you use to find out if people are logged in or not ?

After more investigation, I can tell from my Apache log that Googlebot is crawling my website and gets a 200.
However Search Console is still showing these error messages. I don’t get it.

yes it sort of works but it is still not the right behaviour because it does not clear related files like blog list or frontpage containing latest posts.

yes, I confirm. I have the exact same problem. It would be good if support for this plugin was more responsive, there is another major issue pending there:

Finally after pulling my hair out for two days, I’ve come across this thread ! I’m facing the same issue and I thought I was doing something wrong.

If indeed it is a bug, it is clearly not fixed yet.

What have you guys done about it ? @mike.banavige, I’m going to try your solution. Have you found anything better since ?

After more investigation I found out that:

– if I activate cache preload, garbage collection never occurs and the home page is not deleted from the cache …..

…. until I log into wordpress !

Right when I log in, the home page is removed from the cache.

I have checked the option to not use the cache for logged in users. But this is not supposed to remove the home page from cache…

Is this a bug or did I misconfigure something ?

But even if I don’t switch from one to the other, it remains a problem because I edit an existing post, the default Tab is ‘Visual’.

I find it unreal that one cannot type HTML in a WordPress post ?! Is there a plugin that allows doing so ?
