In reply to: [Polylang] Categories not showing in translated contentOhh, I see… those are not part of the menu system of my site, those are just categories displayed as clickable items. The only menu on my site is the big one that you can see at the left.
Anyway, I think I just found a solution: just duplicate the “portfolio” post in English and then everything works fine. I don’t know why I need to duplicate posts now, but as long as it works I do not care )

In reply to: [Polylang] Categories not showing in translated contentWordPress does not automatically add categories to the menu, you need to add them manually.
To what menu are you referring to?

In reply to: [Polylang] Categories not showing in translated contentHello again,
I think my video wasn’t that clear after all so I will try to explain what I did there:
In the first part of the video I go through the process of creating an English translation for a Russian category in the “portfolio” section of my blog… that is pretty standard, click on the + signs and fill the info for the needed translation. I did just that, I created the CARDS translation for a Russian category that is in use (the black christmas card you can see after I finished the process of adding the translation equivalent).
Though I created the translation, after going to the English translated part of my site the newly created CARDS category is not visible… in fact, there are only 3 categories currently translated and working: PHOTOGRAPHY, PINUP and OTHER. For some reason Polylang saved and applied those categories that I did some months before… as I said earlier, I don’t know when everything broke with my site, if after updating WordPress to version 3.5 or when updating my theme to version 2.1.
What I did later, trying to apply an English category to a Russian post may be wrong as you say, but in fact that is not important… I just thought it could help you diagnose what is going on in my site.
The Blog section of my site works fine, I create a post and tags, save it and then duplicate it through Polylang. Switching site languages shows me correct translations/versions of my posts.
I don’t know if accessing the backend of my site may help you. If it does I could grant you permission to lurk around and see all that you want )
Regards!
