    Hi again Con,
    Thanks for your reply. The problem has now been resolved: there was a “network issue” with our host company that prevented connection to PayPal. They seemed incapable of fixing it, so after being without our shop for two weeks we moved to another hosting company and it all started working again. Of course as soon as we moved (at some cost, I might add) the original host company fixed their network issue. But I’m sure it will turn out to me a good move in the long term, the new company is much more responsive and appear to be more technically competent. Thanks for your help with this, much appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Andy

    I have enabled debug and have logs. Error is a time out:
    07-04-2020 @ 19:05:31 – WC_Gateway_PPEC_Client::_request: returns error: Array
    (
    [ACK] => Failure
    [L_ERRORCODE0] => 3
    [L_SHORTMESSAGE0] => Error in WC_Gateway_PPEC_Client::_request
    [L_LONGMESSAGE0] => An error occurred while trying to connect to PayPal: cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10001 milliseconds
    [L_SEVERITYCODE0] => Error
    )
    I have refreshed the PayPal credentials but it still fails. PayPal support have told me everything is OK at their end and sent evidence of a successful test transaction using our credentials but not going via the gateway.
    What’s the best way of getting that information to you?

    In reply to: eshop automatic emails

    Hi,

    You can’t create automatic emails to a third party company with eShop. The only automatic emails that the plugin sends out are to the shop owner and the customer.

    Who is the ‘shop owner’ and where is this entered into the back end. I have made my shop live and got one order, but I didn’t get an email.

    Awesome, you fixed it. Many thanks.

    Works great now. Just need someone to buy!

    Hi, Thanks,

    That works (though after I changed “apply_filters” to “add_filter”??), however I get the following message at the top of the content box of the page:

    Warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, 'ORDER BY admin_name, id ASC' was given in /home/triumph2/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 166

    Thanks,

    Allen

    @edbennett:

    Did you identify which characters were causing you problems? It’d be handy to know for future table creation.

    Cheers

    Okay, thanks for the help. I had to rebuild the table in the end, cutting and pasting the content from the database table.

    There were a couple of questionable characters in there, but not sure which ones. Are any of these problematic?:
