    Thanks Marcus,
I had already posted another post previously, but for some reason it’s not here.
What I did was simply go into the MySQL tables and deleted the event.

It doesn’t make any difference how many people wrote the Codex. The important part is that it IS THERE! For this plug-in IT IS NOT.
    Stop avoiding the real problem.

Very good! You take both sides of the argument. By giving my X’s and Z’s, when do I get my share of the donations?

The last two sentences should read: According to your rationale, WP shouldn’t have the Codex either; but you know what? IT’S THERE FOR GOOD REASONS. Get a life.

Oh boo hoo; “Instructions take a really long time”; boo hoo.
Let’s compare it to another Events plug-in: https://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/getting-started/?utm_source=em&utm_medium=plugin&utm_content=installationlink&utm_campaign=plugin_links

As you will notice pages of docs. Why? Because they know that for those who HAVEN’T used the plug-in before, there are many possible options for each action. Instructions, or at least support docs come with everything, from your car to your iPad. You obviously write code, not everyone does; that’s a reason we use WordPress. If we wrote code, we wouldn’t need the plug-in. But then again, Events Manager for WP gets our order and our money. Why? Because they care enough to write docs. So quit your whining that “Instructions take too long”. Typical GenX response. I’m sure the author could have used the donation or purchase. But since you bystanders are so happy to ridicule me, it weighed into my decision of who to give the order. You might think me rude, as you stated; but I find you very arrogant, and extremely pompous (without reason). So when the next opportunity arises, voice your arrogance again, and butcher another sale for yet another author. And BTW, we have used WP for many years, and have an in-depth understanding of its operation. We also use a number of plug-ins and themes; and this plug-in is, by far NOT that intuitive or functional. According to your rationale, WP should have the Codex either; but you know what? IT’S THERE FOR GOOD REASONS. Get a life.

If you go to all the work of writing the plug-in, why can’t you write a set of instructions? What possible reason?

    Thread Starter Richard

    (@greenenergycafe)

Actually, I don’t think so. I’ve seen in on three different sites now. All sites are not related.

Yes, I use an ftp program. I’ve been an IT network Administrator for over twenty years. I am not averse to the technology. I am the webmaster a number of sites. I am also tired of this non-chalance lowering the bar from these wanna-bee code writers. When they provide these half-baked excuses for plugins, they do no more than cause unnecessary work, confusion, and lost billable time for those of us interested in furthering the industry. Enough already!!!

Exactly my point! As you stated, “at least that I am aware of”.
The fact that none of us can have just a common-sense amount of information, and accurate information at that FROM THE AUTHORS of these plugins and themes is an insult.
I’ve paid for two themes recently, and it’s the same situation, over and over again.
This has to stop. It reflects very POORLY on WordPress.

    Thread Starter Richard

    (@greenenergycafe)

The instructions don’t state that. The plugin presents a field, asking for the URL of the zip file of the theme the user wants to edit.
I don’t “place my themes”; I let WP install them, just like it’s built to do.
Similarly, the author of the plugin doesn’t cover that method, even though it is WP’s normal method.
Similarly, no where in the instructions does it say to do what you just described.
And tell me, why would it install all the new theme’s files into the ‘themes’ folder, instead of a separate folder for the the new theme, just as every other theme is installed into its respective folder?
No, this is a very poorly written and documented plugin. The author should know better. He is demonstrating terrible code writing skills and is leaving users without suitable instructions and answers.

Well, it’s a MONTH later, and no one has fixed it!

    Govpatel,
I found your box for creating Pages, but not for Posts.

    Thread Starter Richard

    (@greenenergycafe)

What do you mean, “When you create a page or post on right hand side”?
The right side is the widgets area, very narrow. How or why would one post in such a narrow area?

Also, the template description states: “It includes stylesheets for print and the admin Visual Editor, special styles for posts in the “Asides” and “Gallery” categories, and has an optional one-column page template that removes the sidebar.”

I don’t see and “Asides” or “Gallery” categories when I open the Categories section of WP.

If alchymyth’s advice is correct, this description is inaccurate.

Govpatel, please provide step-by-step help. To make a general state for a fix does not provide the understanding necessary for a solution.

p.s. I am also getting this error at the bottom of my permalinks page in WP Settings:

If your .htaccess file were writable, we could do this automatically, but it isn’t so these are the mod_rewrite rules you should have in your .htaccess file. Click in the field and press CTRL + a to select all.

It then provides a series of lines of code; but zip in the way of instructions as to where in the .htaccess file those lines should go.

Is there a manual or plug-in doc for this plug-in???
