In reply to: WordPress dashboard brokenWelcome to the broken dashboard Crazy Domains club. There are a number of us experiencing the same thing since last night.

In reply to: Dashboard functionality problemThey always insist it’s your fault when they don’t know how to fix it. I’m crossing my fingers atm :).

In reply to: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhaustedLog into Crazy Domains account, open File Manager (cpanel).
In your root directory, you will see a folder called “WP-Admin”. Double-click into that folder/ directory.
Top of your screen to the left is an option to “Create File”. Click that and create “php.ini”.
Inside that file, put the text “memory_limit = 256M ;”
Save file and close.
Done. Note there is a space before and after the = sign and after the M. I don’t know if that matters but this text in a php.ini file fixed my memory problems.

In reply to: Dashboard is HTML-only and can't update or change anythingIt’s nice to know that it’s not my site that is the problem. Geebeede, you are with Crazy Domains?
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Dashboard is weird after updateNo, I don’t bother. I’ve pulled my hair out with them in the past, it’s like they have never used WordPress before. One of my client’s sites was resolving to an ip address (https://23.001.007 etc.) when we would type his domain name in.
Crazy Domains support couldn’t see what the problem was and tried to make out it was my fault or something. I moved his site to Hostgator out of frustration and necessity to get it working and all was fixed.
Their support contacted my client and told him that his site was now fixed. (duh, because we moved hosts).
I think their outsourced support gets paid by calls answered, not by resolved problems. Thus, they just give you a rubbish answer that makes no sense.

In reply to: Dashboard is weird after updateI’m just guessing, but I think it’s a specific server they may be having issues with. I say that because WordPress is working fine on other hosting companies (Hostgator), so it’s unlikely it’s the WordPress core that’s the problem.
Both sites I’m having the problem with a relatively new, so may be on the same server.
My other client with Crazy, his site is a few years old and not having the problem, so may be on a different server from the newer sites.

In reply to: Dashboard is weird after updateYeah, both sites are on Crazy Domains. I think it’s them you know. Glenda, in my experience with them, their support will just give you a bumsteer to get you off the phone. They are shonky as.

In reply to: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhaustedI encountered the memory problem a couple of months ago and found the same solution, but was creating a file on my desktop named php.ini, then uploading it to the server.
What I didn’t realize was that you have to create the file from within cpanel using the “Create File” thing at the top of File Manager. Then edit the file.
Just thought I’d point that out to save other people like me some time.

In reply to: Dashboard is HTML-only and can't update or change anythingThat’s a fresh install at jd. I can’t change anything. If that’s Twenty Thirteen that is the default theme, then yes, the dash is still a mess with that theme.

This one I haven’t touched for a few days, but logging into the dashboard reveals the same problem. Site is functioning though.
