Thanks Jeremy! It’s working again for me. ??
Thanks for the update Andrew.
Yes it was manually published. When I look at the Facebook page, I see that the last Jetpack Publicize post that worked was on 20th October. I have not intentionally changed any plugins, but I do have Advanced Automatic Upgrade set to upgrade the WordPress core and plugins as soon as any new versions are released for security reasons. I’m on BlueHost.

In reply to: [WP Hide Post] Categories Showing Blank Posts Which I Didn’t HideI’m also seeing the same problem: all posts are missing from the category archives when WP Hide Post is active. Help please scriptburn! Thanks, Graham
Thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate it. I look forward to the day Jetpack can publicize to both a Facebook wall & page, like it can Google+. ??
Cheers,
GrahamThanks for the reply again. To clarify, I don’t necessarily need another plugin that supports posting to both a page and a private wall (although that would be the ideal solution), what I was asking for was another plugin that would work alongside Jetpack so that, say, Jetpack publicised to the pgae, while the other plugin publicised to the wall; both connected via the same Facebook account. And in particular if anyone knows of a combination that works, since I smell the possibility of plugin conflicts.
Thanks for your response, but as I mentioned in the previous thread, having multiple Facebook accounts is a violation of the Facebook Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, and is one way to get your account disabled. So that’s not a viable workaround for me, and the issue remains unresolved for me.
I’m still interested in alternative plugins that would work with Jetpack to make this work without needing a second Facebook account.
Thanks,

In reply to: [Comment Hacks] Auto email to commenters?I’m also interested in this. Specifically I’d like WordPress to email the commenter on my behalf when I reply to their comment, using a customisable template like the one used for the email links.
Alternatively, anyone know of any other plugin that can do this?
Thanks,
GrahamMy simplest test is:
– Disable all plugins except Jetpack & Video Thumbnails
– Posts -> Add New
– Title “Test #x”
– In Visual editor: “See this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4htCif0cW7Q”
– PublishMy Video Thumbnail settings have “Save Thumbnails to Media Library”, “Automatically Set Featured Image” and “Posts” enabled.
I’m happy to give you an admin login on my blog if that helps; just private message me. Thanks again Jeremy for helping track this down!
Cheers,
GrahamHi Jeremy,
I’ve found the culprit with a binary search of all my plugins. In hindsight not entirely shocking, it’s this:
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/video-thumbnails/When I disable Video Thumbnails, my posts with embedded videos get publicized. I’m very grateful for you looking into this, and would love either a fix (to either plugin), a workaround, or a suggestion of an alternative plugin to Video Thumbnails that works with JetPack.
Thanks,
GrahamHey Jeremy. I’ve just published another post with an embedded YouTube video, and once again it doesn’t publicize for me. ?? :
https://grahamstoney.com/emotions/comedy-therapy-anger-with-chiara-gizziI tried disabling Content Scheduler and MailPress, then did a couple of test posts with embedded YouTube videos; but it made no difference.
It may be a plugin conflict, but with 46 plugins I’m not sure where to start. Any clue what to look at next?
Thanks,
GrahamWill do. I haven’t tried another embedded video yet; but no, I didn’t use a shortcode. I just pasted the link into the WordPress editor.
Thanks Jeremy. I haven’t tried that yet, but I did just publish another post that worked. I’m wondering if the embedded YouTube video in the post that didn’t Publicize could have something to do with it. I’ll try disabling content scheduler next time I publish something with an embedded video. I’ll keep you informed.
Thanks, Graham
Thanks for your reply Jeremy. It was very vanilla: I created the post in the WordPress post editor, pasted in the link to the video, set the tags and other fields, and hit publish. Are there any debugging settings I can activate for the next post I publish?
Thanks, Graham
Thanks Tim. You’ve sold me. In fact, I’ll go a step further and install Advanced Automatic Updates so that my plugins are updated automatically. That should minimise the emails, and keep my sites secure.
Cheers,
Graham
