In reply to: [Facebook] Link shared on Fan Page lacks thumbnail & excerptThanks for the reply. The image is bigger than the minimum 200×200 that the debugger specifies and it’s about twice the size of the thumbnail icon Facebook generated when I shared it on my profile. Why does Facebook require such a big thumbnail?
Also, would that explain why the excerpt is missing too?
Thanks,

In reply to: What's a reasonable load time for a full featured WordPress site? Thanks for the reply. So who’s your host? Can you point me to your site so I can test it myself?
It may work from a technical point of view, but it’s not just a pain in the ass: maintaining multiple accounts also violates Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities (i.e. terms of use). It’s one way to get your account disabled, as they clarify here.
Will there be a technical solution that allows updating a Wall and profile from a single account in JetPack any time soon?
Thanks,
GrahamI’d like to be able to do on my site this too. Has anyone come up with a solution?
Thanks,

In reply to: [Facebook] Customize Open Graph protocol for your site or networkThanks for your plugin. I think the ability to specify a fallback image really ought to be built into the plugin; lots of other OpenGraph generating plugins have this feature.

In reply to: [Smart Slug] Smart Slug not removing default stop words by defaultI see the problem: the English translation file has en_EN in the name; but the default English locale is en_US if WPLANG is empty in wp-config.php. Rename the file to wet_smartslug-en_US.po and the stopwords appear in the settings panel.
Cheers, Graham
It sure is a weird one; it appeared even with all the dashboard widgets deselected under Screen Options. It’s gone now though. I’ll post a screenshot if it reappears- it’s pretty funky!
Cheers,
GrahamThanks for your reply Frederick. I submitted a report about this several weeks ago via the W3 Total Cache bug submission form.
Hmmm… I’ve just noticed that it doesn’t always give a 404. Sometimes it just ignores the p= parameter. Either way, it’s changing the default WordPress behavior. Any ideas?
Thanks, Graham

In reply to: [Smart 404] Smart 404 causes redirection loop with ?p= parameterThanks for looking deeper into this Daedalon. 404 Redirected looks like a viable replacement for Smart 404, although it also breaks the core behavior. To eliminate confusion, I’ve asked the question with respect to 404 Redirected here.
Thanks,
GrahamI’m really hoping we can get this problem of the .htaccess file in the cache directory disappearing resolved so we can do exactly that Frederick. Until then, having my site break every few weeks makes W3TC compression too unreliable for me. Thanks so much for looking into this for us.
Cheers,
GrahamThanks Curtis; where exactly do you have gzip enabled on your server then if it’s not in the W3 Total Cache settings? Is there a CPanel setting for this or something?
Cheers,
GrahamHmmm… I’ve no idea what would cause it to do that, and the .htaccess file disappearing remains a mystery to me. But oh well, at least I have a workaround for the problem.
Thanks,

In reply to: Simple plugin to auto post to Google ?I suggest we all log in to Google+, select Options (the icon in the top right that looks like a gear), Send Feedback and ask them to make the Google+ API writable.
Also post a feature request in their forum. Maybe they’ll get the message.
Cheers,
GrahamThanks for your reply Andreas. I submitted a bug report using the support tab of the plugin a few weeks ago. The problem occurs because the .htaccess file in the cache directory disappears somehow. I suspect something is going wrong in the cache flush logic, although Frederick replied to me by email saying that wasn’t possible. I can’t see how else the .htaccess file could get deleted.
I’m not sure the id of the bug report as Frederick was corresponding with me based on a second report I submitted: [W3TC Submit a Bug Report] #201112280055: WordPress Firewall 2 blocks W3 Total Cache Bug Report Submission
My work-around is to turn off gzip compression. I’m not certain whether this stops the .htaccess file from disappearing, but it means the site still loads even without it.
Cheers,
Graham
