In reply to: [Responsive Photo Gallery - Images Gallery for WordPress] Why closed?Due to faults and service issues they can’t resolve – They grabbed the money and ran.
I wanted a popup maker for a site. Yours is great. If it was free (As implied by the inclusion in the WordPress repository) that would be fine. By all means add in the option to buy extra features, but do not make it compulsory. I could well have no need for the other features or have another solution already. If you want to sell it as a premium plugin, please do. The part we all hate is the bait and switch. I got a theme once, great and perfect, but $69 to upgrade to change the theme color. NO – that’s dishonest.
BTW – I appreciate your offers to me, but all I need is a popup to use when the season is over, nothing more.
BRILLIANT service! Simply OUTSTANDING. Problem traced to LastPass browser extension. Am 100% confident they will get it fixed.
UpDraft isn’t updating the options. I am trying to enter the new End-point but UpDraft insists on using the old one. Some sites have a dropdown choice, others are locked on the old west End-point. The other credentials can be changed.
Tried uninstall, disconnect, but UpDraft remembers the previous ‘west’ End-point.

Is it worth making it work with an old version of php as we have all updated?

In reply to: [Mailchimp for WooCommerce] Site breakerServer error 500 on both login and site. Plugins installed and activated only. Never even started building the site – just installed the basics. No work in setup done on any plugin or even on the site – just installed the parts.
I use the same plugins on all sites and never have these issues. Can’t do without those plugins – Backup, ssl, security, seo and site update (MainWP). They are all ‘Market leaders’ and mainstream.
If I can find the status report, I’ll post it.
No worries and thanks for the reply.
There are 100 sites on the server. I’ve manually checked all the plugins against the ones listed as hacked but to no avail. That’s 1500-2000 plugins and themes. Why isn’t Wordfence protecting wp-admin, wp-includes folders?
Shouldn’t these malware types (Supp2, kidslug etc.) be prevented by Wordfence scanning php uploads in real time?
With this many sites, premium at $10 per month per site is not an option.
Sites scan clean, then 1 hour later they are infected again. Endless loop. Simply not possible to uninstall all plugins on a trial and error basis.
I thought we were protected from site to site hacking with Wordfence?
Not sure if this helps. I login to cpanel, go to wp-content/plugins/wordfence and rename it. Then login, then rename wordfence back again.
Update – Still happening. Just had it run through 10 sites. Latest server software, latest Wordfence updated the day before. No idea why Wordfence isn’t able to stop backdoor installations.
FTP, Mail are disabled on my server and only ssh login with keys. Long and difficult user/passwords on all sites.

In reply to: [Media Cleaner: Clean your WordPress!] Will only scan 35 media items.Jordy, please be honest and label this premium – completely useless as a free plugin. As it’s premium – go sell it instead of click baiting. A real turn off.
No idea if it works – Detest click bait.
Nginx does not use .htaccess rules. Most servers are moving to Nginx as it is faster and more resource efficient.
Personally, I use WordFence – No problems with Nginx.
Thanks Matt – Falcon was the first thing I activated when I installed WordFence. I also have CloudFlare on all sites.
HG simply don’t care about DDoS etc. when they are only getting $10 a year.
I’ve written to the registrant this morning so we’ll see. There’s no confirmation on the alert email I guess (Can’t remember – been using WF since it came out).
In setting up the VPS I’ve learned how to limit attempts on a page and also how to block countries at server level to prevent this. Shame that cPanel don’t introduce a country block feature.
Perhaps there’s a niche for you. WordFence for cPanel.
Sadly, WordPress is a sieve and too far down the directory tree, so it’s a mammoth task I know.
Thanks again.
BTW WFMattR Hostgator (shared) has shut me down 3x in 3 weeks as Wordfence was doing it’s job. “Excessive traffic”. I have every setting set to “Block after 3 tries” (You get what I mean). I was under a DDoS at 2000 hits a day and WordFence did an excellent job – So kudos by the bucketful for that!.
Not sure how to limit the server load under these circumstances. They were attacking WP-Login but, even with the page name changed, they found the new page and continued.
I’ve noticed the cross-site attacks have dropped off and the SQL injections have also reduced but the brute force ones are escalating rapidly.
