The point is I suggested that a less shady and insulting business practice would be to treat your potential customers like adults and tell them about what you feel is fair compensation up front, before they’ve invested time and effort and run against your deadend pay wall.
Never said you shouldn’t charge for your work, never uttered the word backflips.
This is like offering Free Hamburgers but when customers go to pick up the meal, they’re charged a Food Pickup Fee equal to the price of the hamburger. I guess some customers may be thrilled just to order burgers for free and walk away, but I’d bet most actually want to go through with the whole process and – you know – eat the hamburgers.

In reply to: [WP-Polls] Remove number of votes and voters?Ok, So I’ve removed the “numbers of votes” next to the questions using
.wp-polls-ul small { display: none; }
but when I tried something similar with the “Total Number of Votes” on the bottom, it makes the Vote button disappear, too.

In reply to: Filter defunct themes?Thanks for taking the time to help, Clayton. I hadn’t thought of filtering by date.

In reply to: [Redirection] [Plugin: Redirection] Redirect all URLs under one directoryFrom wading through post after post of people begging for this on this forum, it’s pretty clear to me that this forum and the developer of the plugin both feel that you must learn the painful and difficult world of RegEx in order to do even the simplest redirection so I don’t want to give it away here. Any link I post will most likely be removed (and my account penalized) by the spam filter, so I will just tell you to search G for “put me out of my regexing misery” and it’s the first result.
I marked the answer that solved my problem.

In reply to: [Redirection] [Plugin: Redirection] Redirect all URLs under one directoryI managed to find the solution in another forum. Matter of fact, within 3 hours I had a dozen awesome people offer far too many solutions and I had to pick from all of those! Google will show you, it’s not anywhere in here that I could find.

In reply to: What is featured image used for?Not in all themes, no.
So I can infer that sometimes this is the case…? But other times they make coffee, and then they measure the sun’s rate of movement in the sky depending on the theme I’m using? I mean c’mon, thrown me a frickin’ bone over here.
It’s just an extra piece of functionality that is made available via WordPress core
This could be used to describe ANYTHING IN WORDPRESS. Thanks,
I guess it will just have to remain a mystery, as they seem too powerful to be defined in anything other than the broadest of vague terms. I just wish I knew what theme that lady in the video was using so that I could understand what she was trying to do. How frustrating of her.

In reply to: What is featured image used for?Thanks for the links – I’d been through them before posting here but it’s still not clear to me, unfortunately.
From those pages, it sounds to me like featured image is a thumbnail of the entire post to be shown in a summary of posts but that definition is not what I’ve seen when I see videos and tutorials explaining how to use Featured Image; it’s people inserting images into posts with a bunch of CSS and PHP fiddling being done, like if you wanted to make inserting images far more difficult. An example video is here. To me, it looks like this lady takes the long hard road to insert an image into her post.
To test, I completely reversed the changes the Bulletproof had made and deactivated it and the same issue, default limited access to the editor role.
