Unfortunately that did not work. You only get the advanced setting for Slider mode. I am using Thumbnail no borders. You do not get to choose the caption lenth.

If this changes in future updates, I will come back to this plugin as it is easy to use and easy to customize in my stylesheet. It was an inconvenience to have to go in and adjust the code in the plugin files itself to get rid of the “hellip” issue in the shortened caption, but I am comfortable to change that.

IF there is a way to change the caption amount from 100 to 10000 for Thumbnails, pass it on and I will be able to use this plugin.

I activated the debugger to see if I could see anything but it only shows data from when the debugger is activated and the plugin needed to be active to do that.

The plugin is working great! No issues so far after having to deactivate all my other plugins to activate it. Just a little time lost LOLz

Thank you so much for updating it, too! This means I can start using this plugin with some of my clients who keep asking about it. I wouldn’t install it due to the lack of updates since 2014 ?? So YAY!!!

Got it working. Had to deactivate ALL my plugins and then reactivate this one first. then all the others after. It’s working now. But for whatever reason upon updating it wouldn’t activate until I did that.

Hope this helps anyone else who has this specific issue!

Sorry guys! TOO MUCH BLOAT!!! Still having issues and well over 32,000 files and my auto backup wasn’t even done. UNCOOL!!

When you figure out why it’s causing such a mess with all the bloat, maybe I’ll try it again. But until then … I’m out!

[Update to last week’s review] Will not be changing my 1 STAR rating. Cache folders are not deleted and the folder keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger. Found another bloated folder in …/Uploads/ titled pep-vn — also filled with well over 900 directories and far too many files.

This would be an awesome plugin. It definitely helps with the speed. However, it is not worth the cost of continued render blocking files when being tested. It is NOT worth having my backend filling up with bloated and UNNEEDED and UNWANTED cache files that do not get deleted as new cache files are created.

Also when you delete the cache files with that awesome little button at the top of my dashboard? Yeah … nothing gets deleted. It just piles up and piles up and piles up in my uploads folder.

Why does this cause me such pain? Because I have my site automatically backed up, and it was still backing up with OVER 32,000 files after 2 days and still was NOT done. UNCOOL! Deleted, emptied and cleaned up!

Sorry guys! But it’s NOT worth it. I’d say go back to the drawing board and figure out what you can do to make this not so bloated. Otherwise it’s a pretty amazing plugin. I’m out!

Thanks for the tip but I still have 15 blocking files in desktop and 17 blocking files in mobile …cache/pep-vn/static-files/… when I do the page speed testing ??

Checking via FTP and there are now 42 files in the static-files folder alone ??

doesn’t matter if “exclude inline CSS/Javascript” is checked or unchecked. The pep-vn folder inside the Cache folder keeps getting bigger ??

HUGE amount of BLOAT in the pep-vn cache folder! I even went into my site via FTP, deleted those files and they came back! SO NOT HAPPY!

And apparently the plugin authors aren’t active on both their Google and FB page where they refer people. I’m sadly disappointed. This would be an AWESOME plugin if they get rid of that folder all together … in other words, delete that part of the code out of the plugin. Or create a way to ACTUALLY DELETE THE CACHE … not just set it aside into a bloated file that you cannot delete even via FTP.

First — I don’t appreciate my post being changed to “Resolved”. As I appreciate your recommendation, it would have clearly sucked for you if that did not resolve my issue. Just sayin’

Second, thank you for the tip. I did deactive and delete the plugin, then reinstalled and the box disappeared without looping back. YAY!

But, again, I would prefer “Resolving” my own post topics ??

You do realize that the link goes straight to the CommentLuv Premium forum for beta users, correct? Or did you bother to check the link?

I find that many security plugins and software target bit.ly links as malware when they are not. Has anyone posted to the support forum for CommentLuv to see if Andy even is aware of this?

I don’t have any problems with my website at all. Just ran a sweep and everything is fine. However, I did open that particular file in NotePad++, did a search for bit.ly and found it on lines 7049 & 7047 and I deleted the links. Mind you, both lines are already commented out of the code, however, because it’s typed out as an actual link, the code is read as a link. I bet if you delete the link or tweak it so it is no longer an actually link, then run your security plugin or software again, you will find that there are no issues!

Considering the original author of TOP totally bailed and left so many users with a broken plugin about 2 years with no intention of fixing the API issue with Twitter at that time going by the lack of interaction in the forums and reviews, it was refreshing that someone else fixed what was wrong and made it WORK. Which is why so many people stopped using TOP 2 years ago and didn’t look back. It was broken and did not work. However, doing a little research, it looks like someone has actually fixed what was broke with TOP and it now has new authors that are actually keeping up with issues in the forum.
