In reply to: [WooCommerce] Ultimatum theme suport issuesI worried that might be the case. Its for a dev site that i was working on.
It might be easier for me to kill the plugin and clean out the db of entries and then reinstall an older version.
ThanksForum: Plugins
In reply to: is there a plugin to switch to an alternate theme on certain pagesoh it looks like blog oh blog might have the answer to switcging themes

In reply to: is there a plugin to switch to an alternate theme on certain pagesI will have to search a bit harder for the plugin i guess, I thought it might have been a simple thing that i am missing.
To be honest i had thought or just having two installs of wp and. One in Folder A and one in Folder B then assigning different themes accordingly.
Complete overkill but it would work.
The whole conditional tags scares me a little, but i will read up a bit as it looks interesting (esp the sidebar depending on page bit)Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: P2 theme causing very high admin-ajax.php usagecool that is a plan if the host gets a bit upset.
Thanks texet that is a good backup
as gene says this is a dirty fix but not a complete solution as it doesnt function the same.althought people are used to pressing f5 to refresh the page which is ok i guess

In reply to: P2 theme causing very high admin-ajax.php usageIt seems that every 15 or so seconds (according to fiddler) the admin-ajax.php checks for new comments and new posts.
If i had say 20 users sat on the page this would give the server a fair bit of hammering even though the users are not doing anything, right.
Is this an inherent part of the P2 theme that nothing can be done againstForum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Role control in wordpress has problemshi gene
yeah i have tried role manager but still you can’t assign a user the ability to edit their own comments on any post no matter weather they started the post or not.
It just doent work.
There needs to be the following settingsAdd/reply own Comment
Edit own comment
Delete own comment
Read own comment
Read others comments
Add own post
Edit own post
Delete own post
Read own post
Read others postsCurrently there isn’t the whole ‘own’ focus to roles
There is private & others. This is stopping useres from being able to edit their own comments.
Unless anyone else can work this out cos it’s not obvious to me.
I like role manager but it doesn’t quite go far enough.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: P2 theme: Restrict author from editing another authors commentThanks Dan, I have now looked at this but it also doesn’t quite do the job – it works in the same way as wp-ajax-edit-comments
sometime sit does and sometimes it doesnt.
And it’s also a paint to modify the p2 comments.php fileForum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: P2 theme: Restrict author from editing another authors commentThis in ability to edit their own comments on somebody elses thread is a bug that seems to be ignored at the moment.
I have tried all kinds of role managment and it just doesnt work for me.
I don’t know if this is going to be fixed, i mentioned it months ago (prior to the current p2 release) and was told it would be looking into by the author, but so far nothiung.
This is fundamental to my p2 based theme and WP site.Authors must be able to comment on any post and must be able to edit their own posts where ever they are and if needed delete their own posts.
Currently this isn’t possible… unless i am doing something very wrong!Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Theme P2] No updates nor theme author supportI do like p2 and would love to use it but am hgaving real problems with user roles and profiles.
I have tried all the role plugins but none of the give me the control i need.
It just doesnt seem to be in wordpress.
The support does seem lacking but maybe you just need to ask questions people can answer.
I have lots i need to work out how to do but you dont get anywhere by bombarding people with questions (as i have noticed)
The biggest issue for me though it role control as i said.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: P2 theme and setting up users for posting and editing commentsnope – they can only delete their own comments if they start the thread.
seems like a silly situation really but this is how it is at the momentForum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: P2 theme and setting up users for posting and editing commentsSorry i forgot to add:
Allow users to edit their own comments – not edit own possts (that bit works)
They can’t edit their own comments unless they atarted the thread,
This is weird and annoying – also i have tried ajax edit comments and After reading the install instructions i didnt want to try hacking around with the mightly fine p2 comment php fileForum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: p2 Ajax updates for all visitorsi dont think this live update thing work on my install of p2
i havent seen it working in my testsForum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Help with setting up a Custom default user role for P2 themeI see that ther is a new version 1.04 so i installed and tested this.
With the users set to author they can post new posts and post comments on posts.
But they seem to be only able to edit their own comments when they are against their own posts.
Any idea why this would be?
