I deleted all my plugins. My site is now working. Do I always have to delete the plugins every time I encounter this error?
Why are we getting this error?

In reply to: How to upload photosHi Markhughes,I found this from this site: https://andywibbels.com/post/1339
Connect via FTP.
Navigate to /wp-content/
Right-click on the /uploads/ folder. Your FTP client should give you an option like ’set permissions’ or sometimes it is called CHMOD.
A pop-up opens allowing you to set the permissions of the /uploads/ folder.
Try setting it to 755.Forum: Themes and Templates

In reply to: Modifying the Header/BannerThank you, MoTStudio.
I did what you told me. I right click on the folder that contains the theme and that theme only and click on ‘Properties’ and click on the check mark next to ‘Read Only’ in the ‘Attributes’ section.
I then reinstalled the theme. But I am still getting this message:
You need to make this file writable before you can save your changes. See the Codex for more information.
I’m using SmartFTP, how do I make the file writable using FTP?

In reply to: Modifying the Header/BannerThank you MoTStudio. Sorry for the confusion. First, this is my site https://hammedonline.tk/
I’m using this link to help me. https://themehybrid.com/themes/visionary/header
It says:
You’ll be working exclusively with your style.css file. There’s no need to edit anything else. When I go to theme editor, it says:
You need to make this file writable before you can save your changes.I don’t know how to make the file writable. I read the Codex https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_File_Permissions, but I’m lost.

In reply to: Modifying the Header/BannerI used the search option in SmartFTP to find print.css. I found 5 files. I changed all permission to 666 but I am still receiving this msg:
You need to make this file writable before you can save your changes. See the Codex for more information.

In reply to: How do I make the links work?Thank you so much. I created a new .htaccess instead. It works! Have a wonderful day iridiax!

In reply to: How do I make the links work? Thanks iridiax. I went to the settings. I chose “day and name” for permanent structure. Below the page, I have this msg:
“If your .htaccess file were writable, we could do this automatically, but it isn’t so these are the mod_rewrite rules you should have in your .htaccess file. Click in the field and press CTRL + a to select all.”
Where can I find .htaccess? I’m using SmartFTP and they don’t seem to hide files starting with dots.
