In reply to: [Hatch] User biography doesn't show up on front pageI have the same problem as Kathy Browne, above. Two sites on the same network running Hatch, the older shows author bio on home page without problems, the new one just has white space. I have no clue what is causing this.
The developers’ silence is kind of infuriating, even if the theme is ancient at this point. If it’s in the theme repository, give support. Simple as.

In reply to: [rel-syndication for wordpress] Plugin install failedI get the same, with this and the developer’s IndieAuth Links plugin… On upload and WP backend installer alike.
FIXED: So I poked around in the .zip and it turns out the plugin files are in a folder within a folder within the archive. Moving them up one level made the plugin install fine…

In reply to: Disappearing Widgets?I’m looking for help on the same subject. I guess we can add “remove widgets from sidebars” to the list of things to do before changing themes …

In reply to: Cannot Add WidgetsI might add that going from a theme with 2 widgeted sidebars to another with only 1 can do the exact same thing ??

In reply to: Problems with the Widget’s DashboardYou want to do this before any upgrade is installed. It is part of the basic instructions.
Yeah, no worries. But re-activating them after upgrade made the issue come back, hence the de-actvation ;P
I honestly don’t have the balls to break basic instructions!

In reply to: Problems with the Widget’s DashboardWent through it all twice, but every time I thought I was in the clear and tried to access my widgets, I got the same error message about add_meta_box() in dashboard.php.
Then I tried deactivating the plugins, and there was no problems. So, that got me thinking …
I hope you’ll pardon me for gloating a bit, ’cause I actually figured this out myself …
What plugin do I have installed that could interfere with the Widgets menu through a call in dashboard.php? Widgetizable Dashboard plugin, of course.
With that deactivated, everything is fine again – except the Middle East ??
Hope this’ll help you guys with the same problem. (WP2.7 dashboard is pretty customizable anyhow)

In reply to: Problems with the Widget’s DashboardSounds like we can either uncomment the call for add_meta_box in dashboard.php, or replace the corrupted/missing file to solve this then.
Unfortunately, I don’t know which is safer, and have no idea where to put the function php-file (or where to get it in the first place)
Any ideas/expert advice?

In reply to: Problems with the Widget’s DashboardI have the same problem trying to switch from “Breaking News”, so I think we have found the culprit.
Question is, what can be done about it?
