• Just a quick note to thank you in advance for fixing the speed and interval issue in your next update.

I can concur that in my install, changing the settings for these features in the widget does not affect how the slider shows up on the site. (For example, whether I set the interval to 100 or 1500 or 10000, the actual interval always remains the same.)

    Hi Mrinal,

Thanks for your feedback. I’ll be sure to check that plugin out!

Final verdict: the trick is not to pre-upload your in-post images to your WP Media Library. (For featured images, everything works fine out of the box.)

I ran another test today, and if I upload the images from another location to WordPress through the CSV file, everything works perfectly. In CSV the post content field, whatever the URL is for the images in their temporary location, it will be converted by WordPress to the correct URL in your site’s Media Library as it creates the posts upon import. If you do to this way, the first in-post image will appear in the RSS feed (with the help of Send Images to RSS, of course).

Thanks again for helping me figure this out, Robin!

The feed had been set to summaries/excerpts all this time, and it has worked well so far, thanks to your great plugin. But apparently with this new workflow, the RSS feed does not pick up the in-post images anymore. (It does pick up the featured images.)

I could try not pre-uploading the images, but having them upload together with the CSV file. That may make a difference.

I’ll report back with my findings!

Robin, I should have been more specific, sorry about that.

You are right, there is one post in the feed now that is missing an image — that’s the one I uploaded via CSV while I’m still trying out this new approach. (I’m testing on a one-by-one basis now. Once I’ve got this working, I’ll upload all the other similar posts for the year.)

This post was supposed to look like the other “quote” posts in the RSS feed that have a square quotation image.

Just to clarify, this is the workflow I’m trying out:

I’ve pre-uploaded all the images to my WordPress media library.
For each post, under the content field, the CSV file contains a link to the relevant image (e.g.,

).
The post is scheduled for a future date.

When the post you see now was published, the image did show up in the post on my site, but not in my RSS feed.

Thanks again for taking the time to help me figure this out!

Thank you so much, Robin. I had searched through your previous support items, but I must have missed this one.

I’m a bit code-averse, so I’ll try adding the non-breaking space to the Read More Text field.

    Greetings from Amsterdam!

I understand. Well, at the moment it’s only the My Blogs page at WordPress.com that is messed up. The sites both work well, as does the WP iOS app.

Once again, thank you very much for your patience and your help, Jeremy!

    (@harman-h)

Okay, I understand. Do you think that completely uninstalling and then reinstalling the plug-in might help?

    (@harman-h)

Wonderful, Jeremy, thank you so much for continuing to help me out!

I think we’re almost there… Do you have any idea why the site info under My Blogs is still not showing the correct no. of pages and posts? And do you know why under the Taaleidoscoop Site Stats it says 0 comments, but in the Dashboard the correct no. of comments is shown?

    Thanks again!

Okay… I have W3 Total Cache installed, so I deactivated that. Next, I disconnected and reconnected both sites to Jetpack. Has this helped?

    Thanks again!

    Thread Starter Harman

    (@harman-h)

Done! I’m pretty sure that I did this before, though. Or should I wait a few minutes before reconnecting?

Let me know what you can see at your end. I just checked, and My Blogs is still showing the incorrect info. Stats for both sites are different, though, which is encouraging. (Quisqueya is still showing stats/hits for pages that don’t exist but are linked through 301 redirects to the other site.)

    Thread Starter Harman

    (@harman-h)

    Hold on…

Jeremy, I have a question. The pages and posts on my Taaleidoscoop site used to be under the Quisqueya domain. There are now 301 redirects in place to send visitors on to the new site. Could THAT be why they’re still showing up in the stats, even though the actual pages and posts are no longer there?

If so, that solves this little mystery.

What I still do not understand is how the WordPress iOS app is showing correct page and post counts for both sites, but the My Blogs overview at WordPress.com isn’t…

    (@harman-h)

Thank you so much for helping, Jeremy!

I’m afraid things are not working well yet… ??

The Taaleidoscoop site is now screwed up: all links to media seem to be broken! The site has no visuals and even the Dashboard keeps on loading indefinitely, trying to find the picture files. The names are still there in the media library, but no images.

The stats within Jetpack seem to be in order, with the Quisqueya site showing many fewer views that the Taaleidoscoop site. But… on the Dashboard under Site Stats, the Quisqueya site shows as Top Posts pages and posts that are not even on that site, and the Taaleidoscoop site shows nothing at all, asking me to configure the stats first.

This is very confusing to a non-techie like me. But the fact that one of the sites now has no images is most disturbing. I hope you can figure out what’s going on here.

Thank you again for all your help!

    >> Correction: just after I typed this, I tried again, and now the site does have its images again. And the Site Stats are back up again too. The Quisqueya site is still showing stats for pages it doesn’t have, though.

    >> Add-on: I forgot to mention that the My Blogs page at WordPress.com still shows the wrong no. of pages and posts for each site. Is there some way to reset this?

    Thread Starter Harman

    (@harman-h)

Would it help if I completely removed and then reinstalled the plug-in on one of the domains? I’m afraid I’d lose all my data if I did that…

    Update:

I’ve again disconnected and reconnected both sites. Now the taaleidoscoop.nl site shows up under My Blogs, but with the wrong no. of pages and posts.

Trying to connect quisqueya.nl gives this error message: “Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host.”

Do you know what this means, Jeremy?

Update again: when I tried again, the connection was made! But now only quisqueya.nl is shown in My Blogs; taaleidoscoop.nl has disappeared.
