I did find that tutorial and it told me how to either:

Change the information in the various templates that make up the content of the thankyou page (which uses the checkout page as a parent… and therefore has the same copy at the top)

or:

Completely redirect the successful customer to a page that I have created myself (which doesn’t have the woocommerce information, such as the order receipt and the download they have just bought)

So at the moment I can either:

Send them to a page that says “well done your payment was successful” but then doesn’t have the info they need (such as the download link and receipt)

Or:

Send them to a page which does have the link and receipt on, but has copy at the top for someone who is about to checkout rather than someone who has just made a successful purchase.

I’m having a lot of trouble getting anyone to understand my problem, and also have not been able to find the answer despite hours of searching, which leads me to believe I am missing something very obvious… but I don’t have a clue what that could be.

Thanks for answering. You’re right – the email was different so that’s worked – thanks.

Payments are now getting stuck on processing – and it seems that it is waiting for me to manually change the status to completed, even though I have checked both ‘virtual’ and ‘downloadable’ for the product, and I have checked ‘grant access to downloadable products after payment’ in the downloadable products settings.

Thanks for the answer. I used object-position in the end – but was there a reason I should have avoided that?

I want to add my voice to this request – because I love the plugin except for the way it affects the page-speed insights. And it is difficult to explain this to a client, as renpub says.

So I sorted it out by adding the height atribute to li instead of the individual menu item… still no idea why it happens though, so if anyone does know I’d love to hear it
