Forum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: How to make Multisite media URLs pretty againAs I mentioned above, I’m not moving the entire site, just migrating a subset of blogs. (A couple of the blogs are also getting new URLs, but they are not the image-intensive ones that are causing me headaches.) The tables names in the databases are not the same. The new install uses the new file upload path.

In reply to: How to make Multisite media URLs pretty againBecause I am moving servers but not URLs. The links to the images in posts will change with the new file structure.
ETA: A couple of the blogs are very image-intensive and tend to overload the WordPress importer, even when cut into smaller pieces, so I wanted to FTP over the files.
I am having the same problem. I can set a featured image using Add Media > NextGEN Gallery > [full directions here], but it does not display on the frontend.
In case it matters, we are using the Genesis framework

In reply to: [Social Media Widget] Copy/export settings for multisite blogsThank you! I was able to export the widget settings on one blog and import them into another within the same multi-site network.

In reply to: [Social Media Widget] site slower after upgrade 60 3.3Both problems are happening to me as well.
Sometimes the site will load quickly, other times it takes several seconds for everything to load. (Glad that I am testing it on a dev server.)

In reply to: [Blog Copier] [Plugin: Blog Copier] Some files have wrong paths after copyingI have encountered a different problem with the image filepaths – they are pointing back to the original blog. Even though the file appears in the new blog’s Media library and is associated with a post, the URL for the image within the post still points to:
my.domain/oldblog/files/2011/03/test.jpg
instead of
my.domain/newblog/files/2011/03/test.jpg

In reply to: [User Activation Keys] [Plugin: User Activation Keys] Can't find plugin linkThe settings are in the root blog’s Tools menu. Inconvenient, yes.
There is probably a way to hook it into the Network Admin-Users or Network Admin-Settings menus, but I haven’t had time to look into it yet.
In WP3.0.5, Google Analytics is under Settings. If it is not there in WP3.1.2, go to the Plugins page and click on the link to its Settings.

In reply to: [Wiki] [Plugin: Wiki lite] style.css not loading on front end editing… and I just checked the README file and the instructions page on WPMUDEV page. Both reference a /plugins/wiki/ folder. I’m guessing that they changed the named of the folder in the download to differentiate between the lite and premium versions.
It might be easier to just change the folder name from wordpress-wiki-plugin to wiki.

In reply to: [Wiki] [Plugin: Wiki lite] style.css not loading on front end editingThe “wiki” folder is also referenced on line 1271 of wiki.php
wp_register_script('incsub_wiki_js', plugins_url('wiki/js/wiki-utils.js'), null, $this->current_version);
Try deleting the plugin folder on your server and upload the lastest version of the plugin. Sometimes when you copy over existing files, things get corrupted or extra old files muck things up.
I ran into the same fatal error of “../deprecated.inc.php on line 23” when I tried to upgrade the plugin manually. So I deleted the entire /plugins/wp-show-ids folder and uploaded the latest version. It network activated without a hitch.
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Overrated – this free theme is a marketing ployIt’s not cynical to complain about free things, but it can be in bad taste. Although developers should be compensated for their work, users spend their equally valuable time and energy to research, download, install, and use the themes. But I digress.
From what I’ve read in this thread, the demo needs a disclaimer a la car commercials: The model shown here is priced at $$, not the version available at the price of $0.
I am interested in this theme. Is there a comparison of the free v. pro versions? I didn’t see one the site.
