I have tried different encoding. Do not use UTF8 !!
What encoding do you use (compatible with French characters) ?

I just tested it on another site with another theme.
I have the same problem.
I tried to reset or uninstall the plugin
If I disable your plugin I have the shortcode:

Do you have other tracks because I prefer openstreetmap !
