Hi Sheeraz,
I brought the character count to 1000 and then to 500. I still get the “Caption too long” error. Tested over a couple days.So what is the correct value we need to specify that works.
ThanksForum: Plugins
In reply to: [Link Library] Generate thumbnails not taking the Image assigned to the linkNo worries. I decided on uploading the images to imgur and supplying the links in the csv file to upload to linklibrary.
Keep up the good work on the plugin.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Link Library] Generate thumbnails not taking the Image assigned to the linkI am selecting the “Give priority to images assigned to links if present” Checkbox. The image assigned to the link is NOT the image of the home page.
I can understand that if I had NOT checked the checkbox then it would get the image of the homepage. But I have checked the checkbox. So i would assume it would get the image assigned to the link, correct?
Also I am not looking to resize images. I want to store the image locally.
Thanks

In reply to: [Link Library] Feature Request: Thumbnail generationI guess it would depend on the use. I am thinking though that you would have clients would use linklibrary to reference actual posts ( and link to an actual image) versus websites.
Also I am seeing that even if we put in the link to an actual image in “Image URL” and then click on “Generate thumbnail and store locally”, it would not create a thumbnail of the current image but of the website. Was that the correct intent?
Thanks, HilarioForum: Plugins
In reply to: [Link Library] Feature Request: Thumbnail generationHi Yannick,
I believe that is what is needed correct — create a local thumbnail from an image based on a URL. To be specific I was referring to the Button “Generate thumbnail and store locally” on the Edit Link page. i believe it would grab the image from the “Image URL” field and generate the thumbnail and store it in the “uploads/link-library-images/” folder. Right.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [Link Library] Show link from link library to the bottom of postYannick,
Thanks for mentioning that a random link can affect SEO. That saved me ton of work as I was employing a developer from Fiver to do the job. Actually I started down that road but changed it at your suggestion. So we did have to get a random link from LinkLibray to start but we stored the reference in the mysql db, so when the post is loaded or refreshed it would get the same link (As an Example — https://www.dietnutritionadvise.com/fruits-and-vegetables-with-the-most-nutrients-per-calorie/ – Look for “Also read”). We also went a step ahead and set it up for multiple LinkLibrary Categories. Each Link Library category would reference links from a different site. I realize that we do not want to get too aggressive on external linking as that may not be too good for SEO, although one external and one internal link maybe optimal.
I though I would share this, if someone else in the community is doing something similar.
Thanks
