I have five pages (not posts) and I’ve set their own featured images. Aaaand I’ve set the home page to display a static page then nothing then forced refresh the customize page once more aaaand the Theme Options is THERE! YAY! YAY! YAY! A shot of tequila for everyone!

I’m guessing the problem is stemming from the databases but i looked for ‘theme’ and ‘twenty’ and it didn’t find anything…

I deleted twentyseventeen and reinstalled it and activated it. The Theme Options wasn’t there. Reactivated all the plugins I deactivated and then I tried activating the twentyseventeen theme via Jetpack and it gave me this error:

Unable to activate theme. Contact support.

My target is to use the front page of the theme.

I deactivated the plugins one at a time and force-reloaded the Customize page each time and the Theme Options is still not there. I’m going to try and delete twenty seventeen and then recreate the child theme from scratch and i’ll report back.

The directory of the child theme is twentyseventeen-child (same level as twentyseventeen

The weird thing is when I activate the original theme, the theme options button does not appear as well. I deleted the theme and reinstalled it from the downloaded theme from the site and it still didn’t appear.

Cais, apologies for the benchmark as i don’t have anything to compare it to. my bad.

i am currently using a very slightly modified twenty-twelve theme — i used a child theme with my mods and changed content.php, functions.php and style.css mostly for changing the display of the post title. i can send you the files if it would help.

I am not sure but when nextgen is active and i click on a post title it gives me that redirect loop message. when i deactivate it clicking on a post title takes me to that post as it would normally happen. I should note that it is the only plugin that i installed at the time and the site was working normally before i activated it.

to test a theory, i deactivated nextgen, installed nextcellent, activated it and there was no redirection loop. I then deactivated nextcellent, activated nextgen and the redirect loop went back. and all through this time i have not created any galleries yet.

yup i did delete the plugin and reinstalled. i get the same error. i’m not sure if this fact will help but the host is not running php 5

i have also a huge wp_commentmeta table (> 5,495kb) and a small comment table ( < 80 kb) but i checked the askimet admin.php code and mine already has the additional 1 liner. so i’m stumped.

i just took a peek at the contents of wp_commentmeta and its mostly about askimet_history and askimet_as_submitted so i suppose its askimet related.

i’m using wp 3.0.5 already and askimet 2.5.3

thanks dannoll. i looked at the askimet code (admin.php) installed on my server and it has the needed lines already so i don’t think its related to askimet. i’ll likely take a peek at the contents of the table to see what’s in there.
