Thanks so much for your work of the FX fade option! Very cool. The one thing I’ve noticed when playing with it is that after the page loads, the slideshow seems to “blink”. As if the first slide loads, and the the fade effect kicks in (effectively reloading the image that was already loaded), creating a blink or a random fade to black. It looks like you other users haven’t experienced this, so it’s likely something that I’ve done with my settings, but I’m unsure of what is making it happen.

Also, if you are looking to improve the fader, I think it would be amazing if there was an option for the photos to fade into each other, rather than fading to black.

Horray! Thanks Jacob. I added the parameters into the shortcode and it worked like a charm.

No worries about having other deadlines. I’m happy to wait patiently for the Fade feature. I’m not sure how you are designing it but it might be fun for users to be able to have the slides either fade into each other, or to fade in and out of a colour of their choice.

Did you get the Random Order function working? I’ve updated the plugin but couldn’t get it working.

Also, I’m wondering if there is a way to get the images to fade into one another instead of sliding. Since I have 3 slideshows on a page, the sliding is a bit hard on the eyes.

I’m building a site for a large group of acting studios and want to have a slideshow where each studio has one image that will advertise their services to the visitor (the visitor can then click on the slide to visit that studio’s page – thanks for the answer on that one). Because they are in competition with each other, the order that the studios are displayed in must be randomized so that every time someone visits the website, a different image is first presented. That way each studio has an equal chance at being that first image shown (it’s the only way I can think to set it up that would make everybody happy)

There will also be a studio page that will list them alphabetically, but in the past, the studios that start with beginning letters of the alphabet get most of the traffic.

Is there a way to randomize the content of the slideshow and also can each image in the slideshow be a link to another page within the site?

I tried to fix the .htaccess file with these instructions:

but I didn’t have any luck. Then I started playing with my “General Settings” and discovered the issue. I had the WordPress address as “https://www.heatherland.ca/wp/” and the site address as “https://www.heatherland.ca/”. When I changed the site address to “https://www.heatherland.ca/wp/” then everything works perfectly. It seems odd to me because I thought I could designate my site address as the home page of my website, not just the blog portion, but it doesn’t seem to want to accept that. Does that seem odd to you?
