Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Hestia] Parse error on functions.phpHardeep,
Updating the PHP to 7.1.3 did not seem to fix the issue. I was not downloading the theme through FTP nor was I installing it on my wordpress website using FTP. I tried multiple themes and I was having the same issue. I wound up moving on to the Allegiant theme. Same problems. Then, I just returned to my dashboard and I was able to move forward and finish setting things up … until I tried to import the dummy XML data. I started bumping into memory upload issues despite the fact that HostGator setup my php.ini and .htaccess file with the maximum allotments. I finally called HostGator and walked one of their technical support reps through my issue. He uploaded the XML file and it worked for him.

I was having this same error with the Hestia theme and others. I downloaded these last night. What system update are you referring to? I was running PHP 5.2.17, but I updated it to the most recent version: 7.1.3. I have not updates needed in the WordPress updates or theme updates.

In reply to: xmlrpc.php and Windows Live Writer ErrorYeah, I automatically upgraded to the most recent version and it was still giving me the errors. So I went and disabled the WP Super Cache and two Facebook plugins I had activated, and it seems to work now. Even though there’s a script error on the page now.
