@volkmar-kantor I’ve got the PHP error figured out. However, the call to wr2x_generate_images is generating the files but not based off of the crop defined. It’s almost as if the metadata isn’t being saved correctly.

@certainlyakey were you ever able to get this working? I’m running into the same issue with the “plugin cannot connect to server” error. I, like you, am attempting to marry the Crop Thumbnails plugin with the WP Retina 2x plugin (like YoImages used to do).

Tried downgrading using the instructions above. The “upload a new file” button is still missing. With so many people reporting this issue, the response of “we can’t reproduce the error” isn’t satisfactory.

Just tried using the “display_modal” attribute to turn off the modal window popup, and it does not work. The “parent_container_id” and “disable_modal_centering” have no affect as well. Could be a very cool plugin, and I too would be very willing to pay for a “pro” version if it was fully operational.
