Nicola, thanks for being so responsive.
I think I’m past the hard part – v1.10.11 to v2.1.9 update.
I’ll let you know if I experience any problems
moving forward.Thanks.
Heinz
By “Could not update AI1EC from 1.10.11 to 2.1.9” all I meant was that when the Plugins are listed in the WP Admin mode, there is no “update” link displayed that I could use to update the Timely Calendar.
Regarding editing the Event Page there really is nothing to show.
When entered with WP 4.1 and AI1EC v 1.10.11 the Event entered and
displayed properly. When the website was migrated to a platform with WP 4.1 and AI1EC v 2.1.9, the Event was displayed without indicating DATE and TIME. Entering new information for DATE and TIME could not be saved.
Event Location Details, Event Cost and Tickets, and Organizer Contact Info could not be opened to view or edit the data in those fields.I note that the Posterboard calendar view was dropped in v. 2 of AI1EC – never a cool thing to do when updating software. I know an Addon was added but I’m not sure it supports the old version of AI1EC. I first thought the update problem I was experiencing was due to this dropped feature. Or perhaps the database fields had been changed in some way. This has been a very puzzling experience.
However, since this experience I have now succeeded in saving most of the 1.10.11 data and migrating it to a clean WP 4.1 installation with 2.1.9 and editing Events now seems to work. I’ll let you know if this continues to work later on.
Thanks for looking into this for me.

I did create a backup of 1.10.11 database on subdirectory abc.domain.org [not real name] with WP 4.1 and AI1EC 1.10.11.
Exported data and Plugins suing All-In-One-Migration.
Installed a clean WP 4.1 on a different subdirectory def.domain.org.
Imported the data and Plugins from “abc.domain.org”
Could not update AI1EC from 1.10.11 to 2.1.9.
So deleted AI1EC 1.10.11 (with its data of course).
Did a new Migration from “abc” to “def” this time without the Plugins.
Existing Events cannot be edited – can’t change Date/Time/Location,
but can edit the text in the Visual area.Is there a sequence of steps that will make the upgrade work?
Thanks.

I’m in the state of using AI1EC version 1.10.11-standard
and want to upgrade to version 2.0.9. How should I do
that and still preserve the ability to edit Event fields?
Have there been any changes to the Event fields data types
that would impact the update? Thanks.Heinz
Yes, problem solved by increasing PHP Memory Limit
from 32 MB to 128 MB. Runs OK Now. Thanks.Heinz
Was able to install 2.1.5.zip on WP 4.0 by renaming the uploaded plugins/all-in-one-event-calendar to all-in-one-event-calendarx and then reinstalling the calendar in non-existing all-in-one-event-calendar directory. When I tried to activate the calendar, it gave me that dreaded Internal Server Error. The website is now down and inoperable. I tried the steps recommended in the online suggested steps here:
https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-the-internal-server-error-in-wordpress/. None of these suggested fixes worked. What else to try? Thanks.
