I’ve just submitted a patch which adds custom background functionality and fixes the widgets. I’ll be doing the header bits in the next couple of days.

The theme options were in the first version but had to be removed due to clashing with the built in functionality for handling header / background colours. I will be replacing them with the native functionality in the near future.

I’m not sure why the widgets aren’t working, but I’m on the case and hope to get a patch submitted in the near future.

Yup – seeing the same here. Very frustrating.

Can anyone else help me with this? I’m really keen to get this working properly so the users on my server can actually get the best from WordPress, but I’m really stuck now on how to proceed with this one little problem.

For anyone reading this, the plugin hosted at ideashower.com does not work with WordPress 2.6 or above – the development seems to have stopped quite a while back and the author is no longer responding to comments or feedback.

Anyone care to step up and take over?

Sorry to hassle you about this, I don’t have a lot of other sources for information on this problem… ??

The good news is I get an ‘fsockopen yay’ when running the test above. The bad news is that I still can’t do the automatic upgrade or plugin/theme install from within wp-admin. Is there anything else that I might be missing?

Hmmm… I’ve looked in my phpinfo but can’t see any mention of fsockopen

Do you know specifically what I should be looking for?

How do you rebuild permalinks please?

I have this problem too…

My permalinks were set as:

https://www.bomb.org.uk/index.php/2008/07/sample-post/

And were working perfectly this morning. Then, after update they stopped working and I’ve had to default to ‘ugly’ permalinks.

If I re-enable the pretty permalinks, they just show a ‘not found’ error.

Any ideas anyone?
