The whole site is https including the admin area. No matter how I upload an image, the theme always pulls it in as http.

Now that I think about it, even if I go in and cancel the member by hand when I see that a payment failed, there is no easy way to know if that member updated their billing info between the time the email was sent to the member and the time I get in there and cancel their account. I’d have to search through all of the transactions under orders or (even worse) go through the transaction history on the gateway side. This opens up a very real possibility that an admin cancels someone’s membership after they just updated their billing information.

I’m a week away from launching the whole thing and I just discovered this bug. Please let me know if there is any way to set up an auto cancel ASAP.

    Jess,
Is there a way to automatically cancel them if a payment fails? This is a deal breaker for me if I can’t auto cancel them or downgrade their membership to an “overdue” level or set it to expire 1 day after or flag the account or something. People use virtual card numbers and banks seem to send out new cards to people every few months because of security breaches. I see a lot of failed payments in my current membership system and I don’t have the time to constantly be in there to do it by hand. I really don’t understand how this plugin can get something so basic so wrong. Why would any admin want to allow people to stay an active member if they didn’t pay?

The only way to know if their payment failed is that email. If the email gets lost or goes to spam or something, I have no indication that action is even needed. There is no mention of it in the membership list, no mention in orders, and no mention in reports.

Seems like it should be a short line of code that can be added right after the failed payment email gets sent.
