Yes, I tried with the Generic language but did not work.
My blog’s text is:

<p>

<Directory "/var/www/wordpress">
  Options Includes
  AllowOverride All
 Order allow,deny
  Allow from all
</Directory>

</p>

This is what I got:

Have you checked your database integrity? If any table is corrupt, WordPress may be looking for installation.

I do actively use this plugin with Polylang. It works correctly and Polylang string translation works fine.
