Hello David,

please note that I abandoned this plugin and will not do any changes to it, so that some day it will become outdated, as I announced on the plugins homepage. Unfortunately I do not have enough time to support it any more.

Please try the following: Uninstall the cross-references-plugin completely. There is an tool at the plugin’s setting page to do this that removes completely all plugin data from the database.

After that, activate the plugin again, go to its settings page and set wether the references are by post id or post slug and then rebuild the plugins index (also a tool at the settings page.)

I think this should work.

I cannot figure out what your problem is. You can try to rebuild the cross-references table: go to the plugin options page and use the tool “rebuild”. Perhaps this helps. If not, you can try to inactivate all your plugins and then activate them one by one, to see whether this is an incompatibility between 2 of your plugins.

this is a nice suggestion. Unfortunately this is not something it can be done easily, perhaps a small button with a simple list were easy, but that would not be that helpful, and the logic to search for posts to link to would rapidly become more and more complicated. I do not have enough time to go into this. Appart from that, I would not use this myself, because I do not write the blog posts on the admin panel.

I am sure that a lot of people would like such functionality, though. If someone wants to extend this plugin or make a new one based upon mine, this is welcome, go ahead!

Ohter plugins tags will not work with Raw HTML when placed into a block <!--start_raw--> ... "some tags" ...<!--end_raw-->. This is because of the way the Raw HTML plugin works. It overwrites the content in raw-blocks after all content filters apply with the original contents. Workaround:

<!--start_raw--> ... <!--end_raw-->"some tags"<!--start_raw--> ... <!--end_raw-->

For example:
<!--start_raw--> ... <!--end_raw--><!-- more --><!--start_raw--> ... <!--end_raw-->

now the plugin does not show the related posts list on rss. (You can easily hack the plugin to get this, though, you just need to edit function cref_list_crossreferences at crossreferences.php). Perhaps I will add an option to enable or disable this when I release a new version of this plugin.

a special case with the “more” tag is by now not supported, may be I do it in the future, I understand, it can be useful.

A problem with the import tool has not been reported to me before, I do not know, what went wrong. If you want to contact me at my homepage (I cannot give my email here because of spam) and you can send an export file from your blog to me, I will analyse the problem and fix it.

WP 2.4 did not come out. This post refers to the development version (SVN trunk) which some weeks ago was labeled “2.4”. The current release is 2.3.3, the next public release 2.5.
