A further update to the problem.

I tried deleting the API from Mailchimp and deleting the plugin and reinstalling to start again and now the green connect button doesn’t do anything, so I can’t connect the store to Mailchimp at all. The ‘create new account’ button brings up a new window so it doesn’t seem to be a blocked pop-up issue.

Thanks, I’ll get in touch with them. It was working fine two days ago so I’m not sure why a maintenance setting would have been turned on at their end.

The site isn’t loading but I can login to the dashboard and everything works fine there.

Ok thanks. We’re using 1&1 (I know, I know) who apparently don’t support wildcard subdomains – does this mean I need to switch to subfolders or is there a workaround?

hmmm, looking at it again today I’m not sure that I did anything with wildcard subdomains. I followed the steps at https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Create_A_Network and part way through https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Migrating_Multiple_Blogs_into_WordPress_3.0_Multisite
but I must have missed something. Would you be able to direct me to the relevant documentation please? Feel so close and yet so far at the moment!
