In reply to: [Spam protection, Anti-Spam, FireWall by CleanTalk] VPN’s and spam detectionThank you …
I’ve had a reply from one guy who contacted us about not being to submit a form and his submission was failed with the message above (in the OP). He stated that he was in fact using a VPN on his computer. He went to his phone and was able to successfully submit the form.
it would appear to be a case of CleanTalk doing what it’s meant to be doing and people using VPN’s just fall into this category sometimes. I think some people pick up the error message and respond by disabling the VPN, and then some people don’t.
I will add my own alert to this issue and see if I alert more people to the issue.
I think I’m happy to leave it at that to be honest.
Thanks

Hi
This is the link for the referral that is listed: https://android-app//org.telegram.messenger.web
Thanks
… further to my previous reply, I have just seen that there is now a notification of referral from Android Telegram app in WP Statistics on the website in question. (Just to let you know) ??
Thanks

Thank you for this info. It’s not really a surprise to read, but maybe that’s also a good thing.
While I can’t confirm how many have clicked from within Telegram, or with which device, it’s difficult to tell if information is not reaching Telegram. While the channel only has 500 members, it’s hard to believe that not one person had Telegram on Android.
My own device is android and I did click on links more than once, but there is no recorded traffic from Telegram in WP Statistics.
I don’t need you to look into this on my behalf because it isn’t crucial, but I thought it worth being brought to light.

In reply to: [ELEX WooCommerce Australia Post Shipping] Unable to add ‘Services’Hi
Thank you for this response and your suggestion was in fact what the issue was …. eg. I had selected ‘Test mode’ instead of ‘Live mode’ (because I am developing the site).
With ‘Live Mode’ now selected, it appears to be working fine.
This would appear to be an important piece of information to be included in the documentation for setting up the plugin.
Thanks again for the quick response

In reply to: [Simple Lightbox] No Lightbox on image inserted in TinyMCE editorRight ok. Thank you.
Yes, the site is built with Oxygen and I utilise ACF fields throughout for some of the content. Thanks for clarification
Hi … the reply stated I would need to start a support request from the CleanTalk website, but when I click the button to open a new ticket, it sends me to this forum!?
How do I proceed from here please?Hi @fescobedov …I know this was 5 months ago, but did you get your issue resolved?
I use Oxygen and I also use images from this plugin (with great success). I’m happy to provide details of how I do this if you didn’t find a solution. There appeared to be some other form of caching going on (maybe from server?). But all seems to be working. Thank you.

In reply to: Cant see my images in the media libraryI am having this very same issue, now in WP v4.9.7.
– Media library is displaying a blank page uner the main Media toolbar and the ‘wheel’ on the righthand side continues to spin.
– Media will display in List mode, but not in Grid mode
– Image is not displayed when entring EDIT mode
(I also have a copy of this site as a local install on my laptop and it doesn’t suffer the same problem)There are no PHP errors displayed on the page and I get no JS errors in console.
TEMPORARY FIX >
After reading up on various blogs/sites, I have added ‘ob_start();’ to the very first line of WP-CONFIG.PHP file which enabled media library to function again, but I really have no idea what this does and feels like a hack [that shouldn’t remain permanent].
Personally I have no idea how to fault-find this, so any other help would be much appreciated.

In reply to: Unable to re-introduce base slug for custom post typeThank you again for such a helpful and detailed response.
Yes I do in fact have a custom query, and loop, inside the main loop. I’m not really in a position to work on a custom solution to the pagination so my best solution is to enable a suitably worded slug to add into the URL. …and then organise redirects.

In reply to: Unable to re-introduce base slug for custom post typeHi @bcworkz
I had a look at the various suggestions you made and after var_dumping the $wp_rewrite object, I saw some differences with regard to the CPT in question. I kept looking through the various function files that exist (there are quite a few on this custom site) and low and behold, I found the following:
/** * Remove the slug from published post permalinks. * Only affect our CPT though. */ function vipx_remove_cpt_slug( $post_link, $post, $leavename ) { if ( ! in_array( $post->post_type, array( 'sport-type' ) ) || 'publish' != $post->post_status ) return $post_link; $post_link = str_replace( '/' . $post->post_type . '/', '/', $post_link ); return $post_link; } add_filter( 'post_type_link', 'vipx_remove_cpt_slug', 10, 3 ); function vipx_parse_request_tricksy( $query ) { // Only noop the main query if ( ! $query->is_main_query() ) return; // Only noop our very specific rewrite rule match if ( 2 != count( $query->query ) || ! isset( $query->query[ 'page' ] ) ) return; // 'name' will be set if post permalinks are just post_name, // otherwise the page rule will match if ( ! empty( $query->query[ 'name' ] ) ) $query->set( 'post_type', array( 'post', 'sport-type', 'page' ) ); } add_action( 'pre_get_posts', 'vipx_parse_request_tricksy' );
Commenting these two functions out, does restore the base slug for the CPT and the pagination then works also.
It appears part of the problem is that I didn’t effectively search ALL files for relevant strings (such as ‘pre_get_posts’) which is something I’ve only just realised can be done [in Atom].
Question:
So I guess, before I remove these functions on the live site and change URLs for existing pages (potentially affecting other sites linking to those pages**), is there any chance you could point me in the direction of information to keeping the URL/permalink structure (without the base CPT slug) and have pagination work? I have been searching for solutions but haven’t found anything I can use as yet.…or is it better to start a new post for that question?
** I realise I could organise some redirects if I change the URL, but I’m just seeing if I can avoid having to do that.
Thank you again for your replies.
