In reply to: [Recent FB Posts] How to Post to main blog page?Snackmaster, I have the same problem. I added the same code as you listed (from Danny’s FAQ) to index.php. It works, BUT unfortunately due to the layout of the theme, the Recent FB Posts gets rendered in two places on the page. I’m using a theme that has a widget manager, so the Recent FB Posts is positioned correctly within the widget, but also appears at the bottom of the main page, probably because that where I placed the code snippet.

In reply to: Can’t loginI just encountered this bug, and the moving of the plugins folder resolved it. Terrible waste of time! Shame on WordPress.

In reply to: Upgrade 2.5 to 2.5.1 but 2.5 remainsSo, why didn’t you state the same answer the first time I asked the question, genius?

In reply to: Upgrade 2.5 to 2.5.1 but 2.5 remainsThanks for the info, but not the attitude.
My version.php says:
<?php
// This holds the version number in a separate file so we can bump it without cluttering the SVN
$wp_version = ‘2.1.3’;
$wp_db_version = 4773;
?>So, evidently there is something screwed up with the way my footer reads, or fails to read this.
IMO WordPress is nice for free, but it is a liability as well. I have better things to do with the Internet than to struggle with half baked tools that are the producet of massive groupware. Once again, tempted to move on to a better blogging tool such as Typepad.

In reply to: Upgrade 2.5 to 2.5.1 but 2.5 remainsI agree. Let’s have an “About WordPress” or some simple indicator of the Version installed. Even though the WordPress version zip files are clearly marked with the version number, I am finding no obvious way to determine the versions of my prior installs. It should be a simple line of code to add. The version # a the bottom of the Dashboard page seems to be something broadcast by WordPress and not a true indication of the version you are running. I am correct in this?

In reply to: How To Check My Version?Yes…thanks. I noticed the bottom of may pages says 2.5, but I honestly cannot recall upgrading that recently, so I don’t trust it. But maybe the install went so smoothly, I forgot about doing it! ??

In reply to: Including flash fileI’d like to know the best way to do this too. There are some excellent WordPress blogs that run lots of Flash, and they make it look easy, such as –

In reply to: Media Spin Blog, Feedback, Support requestedThanks for pointing out the plugin zone. Tried out Nick Momrik’s plugin, and it works, except the font is too large. Have to figure out how downsize it.

In reply to: Advertising blogToo many clashing colors, which are ads! The content is muted and subtle and the ads are a loud gross out. If you want to look classy, make your messages larger and give your page a more unified color palette. Worry about the ads later, unless you’re getting paid a lot of money to run them.
