The way the theme is set up, I was actually editing the header file. I have searched on index and the other php pages, but I can’t find the “the_excerpt” section. Is there anyway you can view my source? I am sure that I am just blind, haha but this is driving me crazy.

I’m sorry, but I don’t understand. What relevant theme page?

Well, I played around with the theme I had. how would I make it display the post and not the post excerpt?

That is my sidebar.php under my theme directory.

I didn’t add any of the coding. That is the default theme, so that is weird. There is a lot of php includes and what not that don’t show up on the validator. Basically, what I see in my editor is not what I see on my validator show source link. Where can I post what I see what I am editing, so yall can see what I am talking about. I don’t want to break any rules here. Thanks guys for responding!

What? I don’t understand.

On my end (Using Firefox) I see a photo header image with a man in the right corner holding out his hand and grass. Maybe delete your cookies and temp internet files??

I am by no means an expert, but I have taken a look at your .css file. Your page structure is very similar to mine. One glaring thing I see is that your wide and narrow columns width is greater than your header image area. That is one reason that your right column isn’t floating right next to your left column. It looks like the total width of your page is 760n pixels, but your narrow column and wide column add up to be 450+550 pixels= 1000 pixels. That could be a reason why it isn’t displaying properly. Again, I am NOT an expert, but I can see that one error. Be sure to backup your file as it is now BEFORE messing with anything, so you don’t lose your data. Good luck!

What part is extra? I am confused and I REALLY appreaciate you replying to my post. I agree that using the strong and em tags are the best. I am in the process of updating and becoming more accessible. Thanks again.

Hello there, Michael H. I am trying to follow the instructions listed at the Giving WordPress Its Own Directory link and it says that I should “copy the index.php and .htaccess files from the WP directory, but the problem is, I can’t find the .htaccess file at all. Any suggestions?

I am having the same issue. I bought the book “WordPress 2 Visue Quickstart Guide” and it says to copy the contents of the WordPress file into your root directory, which I did and now it is having issues reaching my .css file. Now everything looks plain and of course isn’t styled at all. https://kellyelizabeth.net is the name of my url if anyone has any suggestions for me. Thanks!
