If you have the plugin Backup to Dropbox installed, that would be the problem.

I can’t think of any reason that it wouldn’t work if your using the shortcode that I provided above and the latest version of this plugin. If you want to shoot me a link to the page you have the shortcode on I could take a look at it.

@rpyles I started implementing custom fields into the shortcode which I hope with be similar to what your requesting. The idea is that you set the fields in the shortcode and the contents of those fields get emailed with a link to the file on dropbox. This feature should be available in the next release.

The latest version of the plugin does have the shortcode option built into it. [simple-wp-dropbox notification="[email protected]"] should work for you.

The file upload size is determined by your PHP settings and the amount of memory available on the host/server that you are on.

This is usually because the host/server that your site is hosted on is blocking the outgoing connection to dropbox.

It uses port 443 (SSL Port) for the outgoing. This port is not usually blocked.

It could have something to do with something that has been changed with WP 3.8 but I am not sure as I have not made the jump yet. I will check into it and post back here.

When the window pops up, there is not an OK button at the bottom?

I would start by looking into how people create language files. A user sent me a language file once where he translated my plugin but I don’t know how he did it since I have never done it myself.

It is something I am working on because it is the most requested feature but I can’t release it again without proper testing.

My guess would be that its a firewall blocking the outgoing connection which happens to most people that use my plugin.

Check to make sure that the TEMP folder that he plugin is uploading to on your host has permissions 775 or 777

That is happening because of a permissions problem. In the plugin admin, there is a setting for deleting the file after its uploaded to DropBox. If you set that to ‘No’ you will no longer get that error but would have to delete the files manually at some point and still does not fix the permissions problem.

This is caused by a conflict with Backup to DropBox plugin and working a solution as I write this.
