I use /year/month/day/postname/ for my weblog, and /year/postname/ for my photolog

I might remove day from my blog permalinks at some point, because it seems unnecessary when I generally only post once a day anyway.

My photolog doesn’t display postdates, so I didn’t want them in the url. The year is there partly to prevent any /postname/ weirdness (as mentioned above), and partly so that people can have some idea as to when the entry was posted.

my ref karma logs haven’t blacklisted anything for days now. I’m hoping it’s not a case of ‘calm before the storm’, but I expect I’ll be proved wrong ??

did you have a cron job running on it?

I set one up, and removed it less than a day later because of the bandwidth it was eating.

I’m currently using Brian’s threaded comments plugin, having previously used Dodo’s hack.

The plugin is a lot nicer to deal with, as it doesn’t involve poking around with core files. You can also collapse threads, I don’t know if dodo’s hack does that.

They’re both pretty good though, and do what they’re supposed to do!

I only use 6 anyway at the moment..

the only one I *really* couldn’t live without is moderate trackbacks (stupid spam)
and also maybe Brian’s threaded comments

Blogtimes, WP-pulse, gravatars and heavyweight categories

I used that bit of javascript with my 1.2 – I seem to remember you also had to edit wp-comments-post.php so that moderated=true was added to the url though…

anyway, with 1.5 I now have this bit of code in the comments.php file:

by the way, all that <$BlogCommentAuthor$> stuff at the bottom of the code you posted- what does that do? Looks like MT tags to me, but I could be wrong

I set up a cron job, but I’ve had to remove it as it’s eaten its way through an awful lot of my bandwidth.

For now I’ve bookmarked update-links.php, not an ideal solution, but nevermind

I had no problems getting them working – just reactivated the plugin and added
<img src="<?php gravatar('', '50') ?>" alt="" />
back into my comments template.

What errors is it giving you?

on second thoughts, it still gives the same error even with that version of the file. I’ve deleted the file over ftp and reuploaded, in case it was that, but still no luck ??
