In reply to: Log In page just keeps reloadingI was able to log in via IE but now can’t log in even that way.
I had this trouble with 2.6 and now 2.7.
This is officially beyond frustrating.

In reply to: Log In page just keeps reloadingAnd another. Now the updated user can’t log in either. This is getting frustrating. I’ve never had so much trouble before. Usually, I get answers here or solve it myself. But this is getting ridiculous.

In reply to: Log In page just keeps reloadingHere’s an interesting twist.
I was able to log in via Internet Explorer. From there, I was able to write a post and change another user into an administrator. Then, using Firefox, I was able to log in using the other user. I’ve been able to deal with spam as well as publish a post.
WTbleep is going on?!

In reply to: Log In page just keeps reloadingYes, I’ve deleted the cookies. I leave the domain in the “allowed” list but delete the cookies from the site in the cookie list.
I’ve not tried the permalink update, I don’t think. Hard to do when I can’t log in. Next time I appease the log in fairy, I’ll do that. ??
There doesn’t seem to be a pattern to when I can and cannot log in. Sometimes, I go to the admin section and can do whatever. Other times, I get to the admin section but am sent to the log in page as soon as I click on something else. Like just now, I went to the “write new post” page (via bookmark link) and clicked “settings” to get to the permalinks. It kicked me to the log in page.

In reply to: Upgrade to 2.7; Login reloads login pageI deleted several folders from the plugin folder before I found one that made the login work again. A folder called “cdt”. No clue what it is. It has two files, dates.old and dates.txt. Is that the countdown plugin?
I can now log in.
BUT, each time I try to activate/deactivate a plugin, I am put out to the login page again and then can’t log in. It asks “Are you sure you want to do this?” with a link text that says “Please try again.” If I delete the gobblegoop after the login.php in the url, then I can log in and the plugin is activated/deactivated.

In reply to: Upgrade to 2.7; Login reloads login pageI’ve got this problem, too.
Took out the appropriate cookies.
Did the `define(‘WP_SITEURL’, ‘https://paulaoffutt.com/blog/’);
define(‘WP_HOME’, ‘https://paulaoffutt.com/blog/’);` change to wp-configTook out the cookies again.
Made sure the site was on the “accept cookies” list. The problem is the same with everyone it seems. Log in and the log in page just reloads. I have this problem with several sites. Sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn’t. I updated this last site, hoping the problem had been fixed in 2.7. I’d not updated it to 2.6 because of the problems with the other sites.
link to previous problem and solution that worked that time:
https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/222737?replies=1#post-915826I just tried the solution from the link above. I copied the plugin folder to my desktop. Deleted the plugin folder. I was able to log in. Uploaded the plugin folder. Clicked the plugin link from the dashboard. Was kicked out to the login page and now can’t login again.
I’m going to delete a plugin at a time until I find the one that’s the problem.

In reply to: You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.Way cool! Another upgrade problem solved.
Used the force-upgrade then did the usermeta thing.
Make sure that not only does it say administrator, but that is also says s:13.

In reply to: Upgrade installation, now can’t log inYes, it worked.
That problem is solved. Thanks!
Now, to fix the other problems with that site and the others…….

In reply to: Upgrade installation, now can’t log inSo, then take the plugins folder from paulaoffutt.com/wp-content/ and put it in the paulaoffutt.com/temp-bu?
I’ll give it a try.

In reply to: Merging of (blogroll) Links and Categories in 2.1My problem is that I use Blogrolling.com for my blogrolls. I used the Links section of WP for all the multiple links I had. I used the post categories to add searching and categorizing of the posts.
This change in WP assumes that everyone blogrolls (links to other blogs). Those of us who used WP more for CMS are SOL.
To me, post categories and link categories were two very separate entities.

In reply to: Unwelcome changes to links/blogroll in 2.1Functionality?
Not only are all my link categories screwed up, but also the POST categories are. They are all put together under the manage > categories tab. I can’t figure out the reason behind the change. If I could, I would understand.
I dislike the blogroll (I use Blogroll for blog links) and would like the links back. Is there a work around?

In reply to: Editing my rss feed fileAs for the second half of your questions, the <head> and <body> are in the header section of your theme. The <head> is the stuff we don’t see such as the meta tags. The <body> is everything we see.
Haven’t a clue about the first half of your questions. I found this while looking for an answer for myself!

In reply to: Spam Karma and Database ErrorUPDATE:
Went to the database and discovered wp-comments was ‘over its space usage’. There was an option to optimize the table so I did. Now it works.
Can anyone explain what happened? I am NO where near capacity for my host (Dreamhost).
I am too old and too blonde for this sometimes.

In reply to: Jeromes Keywords not working after upgradingI use this plugin and have had no problems since the upgrade.
Hmm.
Could be another plugin (that you have and I don’t) is affecting it. I haven’t a clue which one though. I have a list of the plugins I use. You could glance through it to see if you have one I don’t. That might narrow it down.

Have you asked Jerome?

In reply to: Broken smiley images on post and comment pageThe smilies are available through the vars.php file, found in the wp-includes folder. Go there to see if any of the links to the images are incorrect.
