In reply to: Please send over the constructive criticism!Hello dauntless jaunter,
Just went through your blog and i must say, this is the best blog i have seen today,An excellent theme, loads of content, a very brandable logo and header. Everything looks so perfect. And after having all that on your homepage, your blog still loads fairly well.
Anyway, here is the list of suggestions:
1) You seem to have a fairly established facebook page, why not use it on your blog posts. On the top of your blog posts, try putting up the facebook page link widget. It will help you to spread your posts on the facebook much easily.
2) Try removing the static social buttons at the end of your post, with the call-to-action voting buttons for more social sharing.
3) Subscription options – use feedburner or a newsletter system, but subscribers are important for connecting with your readers.
4) Your fonts on the blog posts are too small. One really have to concentrate enough to read those tiny fonts. Perhaps a few size increment will help.
Overall, you have got a great blog, keep it updated,

In reply to: My new SiteCongrats skinnyblinky on your first blog,
always a special feeling when you have your first blog live,Excellent logo and header. Good to start with a brandable logo, helps to build the user base from the start.
However, here are a few things you can still work on.
1) Your loading time for the blog is very slow. It had been a few minutes now, and yet, your blog is still loading. This can be, due to the images you have. Optimize and resize them, lower their resolutions, before you upload them on your blog.
2) Put some content on your blog. While images and point wise feature listing is great, you will still need to write good quality articles to make a blog successful.
3) As suggested by a previous poster, try putting some of the articles on the homepage. Just a bit of a snippet and it will look good.
4) Put some social voting buttons on your blog posts.
Over all, you have got a good start, keep it updated,

In reply to: WordPress QuickStart Theme Generator. An app for making themes fasterThe site seems to be down, there could be a number of reasons to that. This is a very old thread, so perhaps the site is no longer active… best would be to close this thread…

In reply to: New Website…Suggestions or Ideas? There are quite a few things you can do to make your blog better.
1) Your ads are well placed, but not as well blended. Make the color of your ads as black. Then it will blend well with the rest of the content.
2) Usually, front page ads do not convert that well, try putting your ads in the blog posts.
3) Use social media to promote your blog posts. Put some social media buttons on your posts.
4) Get a better logo. This one is good, simple with web 2.0 reflecting and shinny… but a more brandable logo will help further, something creative.
overall, it is a good start,

In reply to: New blog – In 10 StepsThe list based posts are always a favorite of mine, this is the kind of titles that brings the best returns. Excellent concept to start a blog with, am sure it will go a long way.
About the theme, looks like a good premium theme you have selected and a brandable logo like this helps too.
A few things i see that you can work on:
1) The featured images that you have selected for the front page, is kind of a bigger resolution. So, the frontpage slider is re-sizing it to fit, which is not really good. Check the best size for the featured image and stick to it.2) I find an alignment break in the last of the 4 articles, featured on the homepage. The last one’s “read more” is slightly above the rest… not really a big thing… however, this is a rare thing for premium themes as they are always perfect.
3) Would suggest you to use social media in your posts. You are writing great content which can spread on the social media. Get some facebook and twitter voting buttons for your blog.
overall, it is a great start, keep it updated,

In reply to: WordPress Noob Herehi juse33,
excellent theme and a great slideshow on the top. It is covering your entire first screen, but i still liked it. Your blog’s load time is quick as well. Also, a very good logo you got there, something that will help spread your brand over time.
There are many plugins that can help make your blog popular. Get some social media buttons on your blog, that way you can spread your blog on facebook, twitter etc.

In reply to: Honked off? Join the clubCongrats on the launch, always a good feeling to have the blog running.
Firstly, the logo is great, highly brandable. Over all the entire header is good.
It is a new blog and understandably has less content, however i still went through the few posts you have and they are good. The quality of your content is great.
However, here are a few things i would like to suggest:
1) Use social media – Add a few social sharing buttons on your blog posts, there are many wordpress plugins that can do this. Also, try getting a facebook fan page and a twitter profile for your blog.
2) Get feedburner – The inbuilt feed option is not enough, feedburner has many features that makes your blog feed much more share-able.
3) Keep adding more content. A blog’s growth mainly depends on how good and fresh its content is.
4) Start a mailing list. Try the free mailchimp or the paid aweber, or any other email client you prefer… having an email list from the start is very useful in the long run,
