Thanks for the help. I’ll let you know how it goes.
I’m sorry I’m having trouble understanding you. My issue is in converting the 8,000 or so membership profiles we have in s2member to another plug-in. I could uninstall s2 and install something else, but would I still keep that membership data? Is there something that can keep track of what posts/pages are restricted, what level of access my s2member members currently have, and convert that somehow?
I’m talking about changing from s2member to something like membermouse that supports other payment gateways. I can apparently move from Stripe to other gateways (besides authorize) much more easily.
Thanks for replying KTS.
We have a number of issues in moving from Stripe to Authorize. First of all, they don’t work together to pass along recurring subscription information, so we’d have to add all 2,500 of our subscribers manually.
Next, we’ve tried Authorize in the past, and it’s been a conversion killer for us. Not sure why – perhaps the extra information they ask for when validating CCs?
Authorize’s user end interface for us is also much worse for a number of reasons.
But mostly, it’s because we can’t automate the process.
We want to move away from s2member because it doesn’t support smarter payment gateway solutions like Braintree or Recurly, and Stripe won’t have us. We want to move all of our s2member data into another plug-in.

In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Auto-importer not firingHey Tobias,
No luck. Even deleting the importer has had no positive effects. It continues to disconnect the MySQL database from our site even after the entire plug-in has been deleted.

In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Auto-importer not firingHello Tobias,
It seems as though the auto-importer might have a memory leak. Does that sound like a possibility on your end? We had to restore our site to an earlier version of itself because the problem kept getting worse and worse – even after the auto-import plug-in was deleted!

In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Auto-importer not firingThey said something about the server potentially thinking that the auto-importer was causing a continuous loop?
I’ve also triggered this problem by simply clicking “save auto-import configurations.”

In reply to: [TablePress - Tables in WordPress made easy] Auto-importer not firingWell, it’s now auto-importing, but still occasionally creating a database connection error (which causes me to have to restart the MySQL database).
I’ve set the WP_DEBUG constant to true. What should I do now?
Thanks!
Yeah, I saw that section, but it’s highly technical (and I am not). Ow.ly is the one url shortening service that is not listed on any blacklists that I can find. I do the research on mxtoolbox.com.
I think I’d frankly prefer to not use a URL shortening service at all, as they are all prone to winding up on blacklists from time to time.
People did report this before – from the very day we started the site. The problem is that it doesn’t always happen. It just happens occasionally. This isn’t a known issue, then?
And we are not especially web-savvy. We don’t have a test site where we can mess with big changes like you describe – changing the theme, for instance, could very well break everything permanently, and this isn’t the easiest error to reproduce in any case. It probably happens 1 out of every 20 times one tries to navigate to a page, but sometimes it will get stuck and do the same thing over and over.
The problem seems to be that the s2member plug-in just doesn’t acknowledge the fact that the person is logged in when pages are navigated to directly.
I wouldn’t know what settings to check in s2member’s general options, nor what I should be looking for in the mu-plugins folder.
Thanks for your time.
