Hi,

We released v1.9.1 today and it can fetch the captions and alt text from the images. Of course, this is true only for the images uploaded via WordPress Media. So, the selected folder must be, for example “wp-content/uploads/2024/03”.

The Hot Random Image plugin simply randomly select an image from a given folder and display it as a standard <img> container. There’s no Javascript or jQuery code involved in this. Probably some other elements from your website blocks the loading of large GIFs.

This usually means that the plugin didn’t find any valid image files in the folder you selected. Are you sure that the folder with images you selected is correct and there are images in it? Are the images accessible with proper reading permissions?

You said you installed HRI plugin 10 times, but since it’s impossible, I guess you are using 10 HRI shortcodes on a page. Honestly, we did not test so many HRI shortcodes on a single page. When plugin selects 10 larger images, it’s possible that it causes rendering issues. However, without seeing your website live, I can’t be 100% sure.

Yes, the correct path is “wp-content/uploads/2023/10”.

I don’t know what you mean by “header rotation”. This plugin can work in a widget position or with a shortcode. Please read the documentation.

Make sure the folder is without leading and ending slash. So, for example:

uploads/year/date

If it doesn’t work, please provide the link of your site and one link of the image from the folder.
